RCI Suspended Eagle Village Tamiment

I had to join just to come here and comment. Our family has owned a timeshare here since 1985. We received a cancellation notice less than a week from our vacation. Kids excited, everything purchased for the trip, and a lousy email with no explanation. After doing extensive research and ending up here and reading everyone’s comments it shows there is ALOT going on here. One thing we all must do is stick together!!!!! This is not okay, our families own these deeds and we cannot give up. They are purchasing as much as they can to have majority rule in court. We have to all stay together and on top of what’s going on, if any court dates and fight back. This is all illegal. My grandparents worked to hard their entire life to just sit here and not fight back and i know everyone else’s families to. There is something shady going on here!!!!!! LETS GET LOUD. I would love to connect with anyone trying to get answers and do something about this. I grew up coming here my entire life, this place is so special to my family and me. I am outraged, heartbroken, and motivated!!!!!!

I also have 0 idea who Chris and Renee are, and can promise they are not me, so best of luck suing the wrong people. But...I can't wait to see the EV docs that will be divulged in order to refute the statements made here.

If you are following, or commenting on the Facebook page, John's MO is hiding or deleting comments he does not like. Screenshot them if you must. Problem is, if you post again, he will block you. I imagine Melanie will be following the same modus operandi.

Yeah deleting seems to be the only thing they are good at! We know your posts are true we also have all of this information and glad we aren’t the only ones seeing what’s going on. But exactly. A simple TRUE answer is what everyone wants and it isn’t to much to ask… knowing the place is totally destroyed we continued to come, for the memories. But now this? With nothing? Not okay.

I drove to Tamiment the other day to see what was going on Whenever I was in town already

It is abandoned and empty. Nothing has been done there are just a couple of Abandoned trucks parked there. I bet they are trying to just take the property to sell it because it sounds like that Jon guy owes a lot of people money.

Or maybe this Melanie character is the new scam artists taking over I don’t know but either way, I’m upset my families time share is going to go away even though we’ve been paying for a couple of decades now !!

What a bunch of horrible people ripping off families like this!!.

My friend said she heard they are going to sell the whole thing and put in an Ai data center or something!!. It’s so sad we all lose our access to the lake and our vacations!!!!

This Melanie person sounds like she doesn’t know what she’s doing if she’s just posting on Facebook how unprofessional!!! I hope the employees she talked bad about sue her!

I hear you!! My parents bought this timeshare back in the 80's too when it was owned by Wayne Newton. We had so much fun especially at the 4th of July. My parents paid maintenance fees since the 80's and then gave it to me and my husband two years ago. I thought we would be making the same memories with our grandkids, but that is not happening. As I matter of fact we had to spend over $2,000 last month to rent a house in Lake Harmony in the Poconos. These people are playing games at our expense and it has to stop! I was just thinking the same thing this afternoon that we need to band together and do something!! These are not professional people they are in for their own benefit. Number one, if I had a business and wanted to be professional, I would not have a Facebook page with a picture of my husband giving the middle finger. Sorry this just does not portray professional in my opinion. The first thing I am thinking we can do is start contacting lawyers to file a class action lawsuit. I will also contact the agency that handles timeshare licenses and see if they can do anything. Also, I would urge everyone to contact the Pike township municipality and talk to the codes enforcer and file a complaint. I will look up the phone number and post it in another post. Any other thoughts on who we can report them to would be appreciated.

State Representative Jeff Olsommer his jurisdiction is Pike County (570)226-5959

State Legislator for Pike County Senator Lisa Baker (570)226-5960

And most importantly the Pennsylvania Real Estate Commission who oversees Pennsylvania Vacation Ownership. (360)918-8196
Which states on their webpage - Financial obligation and property management entities that they must operate according to specific legal requirements and standards. Pennsylvania law helps ensure proper property operation while protecting owner interest. These processes must follow specific procedures designed to ensure fairness and transparency while maintaining property operation.
If everyone would call the Real Estate Commission tomorrow, we might get started in the right direction.
 
Here is another agency to contact Federal Trade Commission is a good place to report timeshare fraud or deceptive business practices. To file a complaint go to their website. If they get many similar complaints, they might start an investigation.

So please start contacting some of these agencies. Like the Federal Trade Commission website said, if they get many similar complaints, they might do something.

Also going to look into contacting the local television station up there.

That’s exactly why my grandparents purchased also ! They were so excited for the lake boat casinos. Gosh that place was so fun back then! Reminded me and my mom of dirty dancing. Even though it’s run down and NOTHING like it used to be, i still somehow absolutely love it there. It’s just as soon as i pull in, it takes me back to all the old memories. You have great ideas and i will make sure i contact every single one of these people today. So will my entire family! Thank you. We will not be giving up on this, we are sharks!! 😉. & it breaks our heart! So we won’t give up until we know we did absolutely everything we can. Glad we connected!

Google reviews help as well. They can't hide or delete those, as long as we stay factual. That will help get the word out about this page, and about EVs new management team and how things have been operating for over 13 months now.
