I'll add a positive note. After all, I don't want to be too much of a downer. My sweetheart has had a Sapphire Reserve for a number of years. Out of curiosity, I signed on to Chase Travel. Lo and behold, sitting there was a Points Boost redemption for a United Airlines nonstop flight to Japan in their Polaris Business class. I've been working on a trip to Japan for us, and had initially planned to use our American Airlines miles. But AA has upped their award tickets in Business class to Japan to 428,000 miles per seat. 428K per person is simply unreasonable. That's 856,000 miles for a couple!! The Chase Travel Points Boost offer beat that easily. It wasn't even close. It was also superior to the miles required on the United Airlines website. Moral to the story: check Chase Travel if you're planning something. You never know what you might find.
