Traveling to Dollywood and going with a foodie. Can anyone give me top restaurant pics in pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, or Severnville area?

Also what would be on your must do list of things to do while you’re there for first timers?

I've never had an "I'm blown away" meal in Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge that would impress a foodie. It's a mix of comfort food for tourists plus "country cooking". There was a pretty good place over in Townsend with local fish, but it doesn't look like it survived Covid.

I tend to spend my days hiking in the Park, and hit Dollywood up in the evenings. I buy an annual pass to do that, which is not the cheapest way to do it, but it works for me. Tubing is more of a warm-weather thing, but the Outpost B trip here is fun if the river isn't too low. If you're a little more adventurous, the whitewater rafting would be fun; the upper river segment is Class III and IV.

We are a family of foodies and head up for the weekend whenever we can - at the park itself we usually pre-purchase the seasonal tasting pass and nibble all day.
we like Paula deans family kitchen, Guy Fieri’s Downtown Flavor-town…but if you get a chance Sunday mornings there is a wonderful reasonably priced brunch up at the Dreamore Hotel called the Song & Hearth- it’s how we end every trip.

Near the sea.
Thai Basil. 530 Winfield Dunn Parkway. Sieverville. One of the best Thai restaurants we have been to. We went twice. Why are the good ones always so far from where I live?

In Gatlinburg - Drive the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail.

I'm local, but we do enjoy the Applewood Restaurant once in a while. There are long waits most of the time. We prefer to go on Saturday for lunch, since Sundays it's the same price all day. We enjoy the country cooking type food. But we always stop to buy apple donuts in the Cider Barn right next to it when we're in the area. I finally learned to call ahead to have them hold some for me because they always run out by sometime in the afternoon. Their other goodies are tasty as well. If you've never eaten Apple Stack Cake, they serve a good representation of my favorite dessert. We make our own at home.

I will amend this. Just finished a meal at The Appalachian, and I think it would be worth a visit. I had the trout. It’s trying to do maybe one too many things flavor-wise, but it was still very good. The berry cobbler was not overly sweet, a little dense, and also very good.

It’s in town in Sevierville, off the Parkway, and so more of a locals place than a tourist destination. And that’s probably to its benefit.

I don’t drink (already exceeded my lifetime quota) but the bar looks very well provisioned.

Entree, tea, and dessert was a shade under $50 plus tip. Very reasonable for the quality.

I looked at the menu...
I'm sure it's all quite good, but a tad high for my dining budget.

I've seen the Local Goat recommended before, but the menu looks meh. Anything a standout there?
Just heard on the radio today that they won some sort of award. I believe it was for "best burger".
