If I make an exchange for my kids, can I buy eplus and also a guest certificate? As I recall you can't buy insurance and a guest certificate?

Yes, but hold off on getting the guest cert until the week before check in…just in case there is a change in plans.

I am pretty sure you can also buy insurance even if there is a guest. I got a Lagunamar week for a former coworker in 2020 and was able to add the insurance for them. That was on a getaway though.

If you get an ePlus and a guest certificate, and then use the ePlus to change the week, I believe your guest certificate will be lost and you will need to buy a new guest certificate.

It might work that way on EPlus, but I am pretty sure on straight retrades it doesn't. We have a number of times done a retrade on a week that had a guest certificate and the guest name was retained on the new exchange.

I could be wrong on that...

Last week I retraded a week that had a guest certificate attached using eplus
The guest certificate which was in place was for one of my adult children
That child's plans changed
Was able to rebook another week for another child. When I did so the guest certificate remained (still in first child's name)
I then modified guest certificate changing name to second child
No additional charges

Yup. I have done this too. Guest certificate stays with exchange.
