I really like Marriott Ocean Club Aruba.

I want to upgrade to buy more Mariott Ocean Club points; but. I want to dispose of my two worthless Wyndham contracts, first. I really don't stay much at Wyndham properties. I mean, they are nice but I don't use them that much.

What should I do?

Ocean Club Aruba is super safe and super relaxing, like Cancun but with no crime. Zero crime. Super safe and relaxing. Some social activities, except that when I was there in September 2021 the government of Aruba banned dancing.

You might try giving the Wyndham contracts away in the free timeshare forum. Just don’t call them worthless - that’s bad PR.

Yes they banned dancing as part of their covid restrictions. We were there the end of August/beginning of September and no dancing allowed in any of the bars or clubs. 10 pm curfew when we were there but heard they lifted that shortly after we returned home. We still had a great time. Stayed at the Divi Phoenix and absolutely loved it. Resort property was open for guests but we couldn't be off site after 10.

Exactly. The government banned dancing in groups larger than five people on September 1, 2021. Supposedly, the dancing ban was going to be lifted on October 1, 2021, which is after I left, so I really can't say.

One man's worthless trash timeshare is another woman's valuable treasure timeshare; I've already had a positive response to my marketplace ad. So sorry that you are missing out.

That’s great! Don’t worry too much about me, though; I’ll get by with what I’ve got.

Ok. I guess not everyone wants to live my life as highly as I did. I simply adored my Wyndham Skyline property, alternating my time between the whirlpool and the private balcony, when I was not on the boardwalk watching all the funny people. I'm not a gambler, I just like the fresh ocean air. And my Wyndham points introduced me to Pocono Mountain, a fascinating place in fall, although now it's a Wyndham Worldmark and slightly different. I also enjoyed Williamsburg, although I always stayed at Patriot's Place, which is closer to the historic district. I thoroughly enjoyed my properties. It's just that they're worthless to me, now, as I now own a Marriott property in Aruba and Club Wyndham is not in Aruba, except through RCI hopscotch. It's not easy living the high life as I do; not everyone can live as high as I do, but, c'est la vie.

There is no such thing as Marriott Ocean Club points. You can either buy weeks, as the OC is not in the trust, or you can buy Marriott Destination Points that can be used at the OC. We have been owners since preconstruction and depending on what time of year you want to go you would buy a gold or platinum week. The points that you need are again dependent on the time of year you want to go and the size of the unit. The OC has more dedicated 1 bedroom villas than 2 bedroom ones. I hope this information helps— if you have specific questions send me a PM.
