If you want it, you can probably find it on Amazon, right?

The kit is listed at $32,990 on Amazon and the listing clearly points out that this is a DIY build. So, you will need a little sweat equity to get the job done. The description estimates a one-week construction timeline for two adults. Step-by-step instructions are included to make the job as easy as possible.

Shipping for the cabin kit is free and should arrive within 90 days of purchase. That should give you enough time to round up some friends for the ultimate do-it-yourself project!

Isn't that the price of a bottle of "good" pineapple rum?
Wait... the rum is $32.99 (0.1%)... and I'd rather have the rum.

I have been doing extensive research into kit cabins. Definitely not paying that much, and would suggest anyone buying a kit, get it from the manufacturer directly.

But wait. So you don't forget order before midnight tonight and you can get a second cabin for free. Just pay separate postage and handling.....

My neighborhood HOA would have a cow... No outbuildings allowed.

Do Prime members get 2-day shipping?

Did anyone notice the bathroom door access is from the front porch? I would have to rotate it 180 and put the door on the bedroom side and shower on the exterior porch wall.

This reminds me of those Sears Kit houses that you see every so often. I just about bought a property with one when I was in grad school.

Oh yes, kit houses abound now! Not just prefab.

I would love to see an old Sears if any are still standing.

PLENTY are still standing. The key is to find one that hasn't been tampered with or remodeled over the years (to the extent it's unrecognizable as a catalog home).

FWIW; I have a 1908 Montgomery Ward catalog house, and it's held together by pegs! Of course a lot of remodeling has been done over the generations so it does look much different today than when it was first assembled.

It's been in our family since 1908, and my grandmother used to tell me that it was shipped by rail (which was THE major mode of transportation back then). My, how times have changed!

I’m not sure if it was from Sears, but my family’s MN cabin was built from a similar kit almost 50 years ago and is still going strong today.
