I make great use of platinum membership, if you will book 2 getways or more then you break even as you save 60€ per booking over the basic membership plus you can do a free guest certificate for friends and family normally 59€. We have 2 different friends whom travel with us a lot so I book about 6-8 getaways min a year. Also on your first year you get an extra 30€ off too. I set up my II and got my week deposited just on the deadline day! Took 2 days to get the week deposited after account set up but maybe it was quick for me as I have a corporate account too (destination points)!

Maybe I will look into platinum in a few months. We don't foresee traveling anytime soon. Thank you for your input!

I called Marriott again today. No other later reservations available. Marriott was able to deposit the reservation I had today, so we are before the 60 days deadline! Thanks so much everyone. So now, my question is what do I do? I see the week under My Unit tab. Do I have to select Vacation Exchange or Place Request now? Do I need to do anything else with the unit or is it in the system to be exchanged now? I don't want to miss something. My 60 days out is on Tuesday.
You should be good, if it shows up and the Exchange# is there. You can select vacation exchange just to see what inventory is out there right now (what people call the "leftovers" after ongoing exchanges are matched), and you won't be committed. "Place request" will do what we call an "ongoing request/search" and can help you match new units that come into the system. But this method locks up your week (for instant exchange) until you cancel the search.

David-
Placing a request on II does not lock up your week for instant exchange.
You can use the week you have requested with to search and if you find an instant exchange you can just go ahead and confirm it you don’t need to cancel your request.

Darly-
Now that you have a week deposited in II be sure to go to the bottom of the page and read the faq- lots of great info there and also the buyers guide ( under legal at bottom of page).
Under community, general discussion you will find a video tutorials to show you how to place a request and other helpful tips. The II community is also a great place to get help and advice on using II.

Can you explain how to do this? Never mind I just figured it out. Thanks! I always thought the vacation exchange button was to modify your request.

You can do manual searches with any week that has an ongoing search. If you accept a match during this process it cancels your ongoing search.

You need to place a "Request" to have II search for a match.
Exchange -> My Units -> Place Request
Add Codes, Select Date-Range, Pay Exchange-Fees [if you add Non Marriott-Codes], Save

You can select Multiple Date-Ranges [with same or different Resort-Codes].

Is your week actually deposited or are you just seeing the unit placeholder online?

It has Exchange # under my unit, and it says unredeemed deposit expires 10/10/2022. I assume it's good?

Yes sounds like it is a deposited week ready to exchange when you want to.
