DD23 just asked to come home for 4-5 days. I'm letting her. She's staying in basement and outside or has to wear KN95 mask and us too if in the same room. We'll eat outside on patio. We've been isolating with our youngest kids for 4 months. At some point, life has to go on--with those extra precautions.

Our house was big (and kind of empty as the kids have grown and gone)....last local child in college now. BUT.....years ago we opened our big home to foster children and over the past 15 years have probably housed over 100 non-related children in our home from newborn to 18. I LOVE a home with children (and my husband goes along). Right now we only have one foster baby who just turned 1 last month! She is such a joy and the best diversion during isolation....I can only do so much gardening..... If anyone ever feels they have room in their home (in their heart or their family)...for a few nights, or weeks or months....taking a homeless child in is the best thing I have ever done. And there is a desperate need for foster families everywhere. (*I do realize for all the reasons we've discussed here that COVID has put a different spin on this and we are also dealing with the difficulties; and not taking in any new children....but someday, maybe you'll want to think about it).

God bless you. I'm tearing up reading this. I pray that the 1 year old has a bright future ahead of her. You have certainly helped give her a great foundation .
