Just recently purchased 4,000 DC points. Have often stayed at Hyatt Kaanapali Beach in the past but wondering how available it will actually be to book using DC points. Shoulder season is not an issue.
Thanks for the advice

HKB is not currently available for DC points. There is no indication that this will change at any time in the near future.

How recently did you buy the DC points? Did you buy them retail (from Marriott)?

Yes. The sales exec indicated that Hyatt was available for 3,000 DC for shoulder season. But had to be booked through II.

But we’ve only seen HKB availability in II when it first opened and haven’t seen any availability in II since. While availability could change in the future due to the merger, nothing is a guarantee.

If you’re still within the cancellation window, take advantage of it while you still can. You’ll have endless opportunities to buy directly from the developer but only one opportunity to rescind. Rescind and research.

That would be an exchange and I suspect, very unlikely to be available. If this is a large part of your usage plan and you can cancel, I'd do so until you're more aware of the system and your options.

Hyatt Ka'anapali was availabe as a Getaway in II (cash rental) for a short time when it first opened. I have not seen anyone report that they have seen it available for Exchange.

Exchange sightings were rare when they first opened.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. HKB was the main location we wanted to stay. I’m probably going to rescind.

If you’re goal is HBK then definitely rescind and spend some time researching. TUG is a great resource. There’s a TUG Hyatt forum as well (link).

Here’s some threads from the Hyatt forum.
NOTE: Hyatt sold mostly fixed weeks at HBK (see links below).

Good Luck and Welcome to TUG :hi:
