We have used RCI to trade in to Villas de Santa Fe for the past 4 summers. It's a great location for our nightly foray to the Santa Fe Opera in early August. Las Brisas on Galisteo has always intrigued me but we've yet to stay there. LOVE Santa Fe.
We stayed in Las Brisas a few times. I never noticed an issue with the cleaning like Dave did, but I may not have noticed. What I did notice is that all of the units are different. We stayed in one that had some kind of atrium in the middle complete with a tree. I was always afraid one of us was going to fall into it.
In terms of my favorites:
1. Otra Vez for the location. One block off the plaza. But has the oldest and most "tired" units. It could be they've upgraded, but I doubt it. Another plus being that close to the plaza is that there is free (limited) parking on site. Laundry is on site, but not in the units.
2. Las Brisas and Villas de Santa Fe are a toss up in terms of location. Both are an easy walk to the plaza. Las Brisas is older, more charming, and as I said all units are different. Laundry is in the units. Villas de Santa Fe is newer and units are plainer (if that makes sense). Also, I don't think there is a full kitchen and laundry is on site. Parking is free at both.
I would stay in any of them.
