How to get VIP status when having resale points

I am new to timeshare, and almost bought points from the developer... lucky i found you guys and I am currently looking to buy re-sale points. I have a family of five and I like the 2 room setup and I think i can cover the maintenance fees with what I usually budget for vacation for a big room.

With that said, I like some of the VIP perks... e.g. more transactions, early check-in, and maybe the discount.... I would like to get GOLD status and I am looking to buy 400 points.

So, is it even possible to convert resale points to VIP? If so, how?

No, it is not possible. Only developer points count toward VIP status. Resale points will never become developer points.

If you are interested in obtaining VIP - the best way to do so is via the PIC program. You can obtain up to two resale weeks based contracts from qualifying non-Wyndham resorts, and then obtain up to two PIC Plus contracts through Wyndham. This is what I did to obtain temp VIPP and permanent VIPG for about 27k all in. Far from cheap, but I'm also targeting a ten year breakeven after which, when using certain assumptions, an equivalent resale owner will be paying more every year after year ten. That said, it really depends entirely on how you vacation and how you book as to whether this is feasible. The primary reason this is possible is because the non-Wyndham timeshares are much less expensive from an annual MF standpoint.
