If I sell my timeshare can I still use my booked vacation?

I am a member of RCI and booked 2 weeks in Palm Springs for September 2017.
In the meanwhile, I want to divest myself of the timeshare that I own and posted it on Craigs List. I have a buyer and wondered if after the sale goes through, would I still be able to use the 2 weeks I booked for Palm Springs or since I no longer own a timeshare does the booked weeks get cancelled?
Also, I spoke with someone at RCI and they said I need to fill out a form to cancel my RCI membership. Should I wait until after the 2 week stay in Palm Springs or should I cancel the RCI membership as soon as the sale goes through.
As a side note, I am waiting for a title company to reply back to me so I can get the transfer started. I contacted both Susan Gale and Mary at ready legal.
Thank you

I don't think you need to fill out a form to cancel your RCI membership. You can just let it lapse and not pay to renew.

I can't speak to your exact situation, but I'd suggest you look into the new owner taking ownership effective the day after your two weeks are done. They can't technically use the time till then anyway, I wouldn't think. Ready Legal has great experience in delaying transfers like this - they did it for me several years ago. Ask them how to handle it.

As to resigning from RCI, I'd hold off on that, as well. You can't join RCI unless you own a timeshare, but nothing says after you sell that you can't continue to use the Extra Vacations, Nightly Rentals, and Last Minute cash-based vacations they offer, which don't require you to make a deposit. All you need to do is renew your membership when it's time, and life goes on. If you decide you never want to use them again, then let it expire when the time comes. No need to cut off your own foot in the process. Right? :)

Thank you for the good advice. I left a mesg at the timeshare resort asking when the new buyer can use the unit. Thank you for the suggestion regarding keeping RCI. Good to know about being able to continue using it even if I never make a deposit.
btw, ready legal did finally contact me.
