Quick question -

When transfering title to a new owner I believe there is a minimal transfer fee. How/when does Starwood charge this fee? Is it when you provide Jose Pagan when your new title documents and he updates the SVO records with the new owner's data? Or??? Thanks in advance for any insight shared.

Hi Rocky :hi: - I just acquired an SVR week and I paid the resort transfer fee into escrow (closing company) and it was $25. When the closing company sends the recorded deed to Starwood, they will also pay the $25.

I never was charged anything for a SVR transfer.

Paid nothing to the closing company and eMailed the deeds to Jose Pagan without being asked for any money.

Starwood does not charge transfer fees. Other TS systems do, and that is why often sellers/transfer companies feel that they can get away with charging transfer fees on Starwood sales that are not ultimately paid to Starwood.

Starwood does in fact charge transfer fees - they charge $25 as follows:

At the following resorts, this is a "Transfer fee" ($25.00)
Villas of Cave Creek

Scottsdale Pinnacle (Desert Oasis)

Lakeside Terrace

Mountain Vista

At the following resorts, this is a "ROFR fee" ($25.00)

Mission Hills

Ka’anapali

Ka’anapali North

Princeville

I just received a confirmation from Starwood.
WDW does NOT have an ROFR.

Per their verifications department, the 3 Hawaii resorts and WMH are the only 4 resorts with ROFR, currently.

Do you know if this ROFR info is still accurate? Not so worried about the fee, just that purchasing at any resort other than the four mentioned (e.g., WKV) does not have ROFR.

I don't think any resorts have been added to the list of those with ROFR.

I also know that both SVV Bella and Key West have a transfer fee.

I believe Sheraton Flex technically has an ROFR, though they may not have used it.
