And lastly...I'm thinking of taking my family down to Orlando in Aug 2017 (thus my platinum/gold week question). And I'm curious how realistic planning on visiting Orlando in late August on club points really is - since weeks 33/34 would seem to be the 'prime' weeks for people who own gold. I'm fine with any of the three resorts and am willing to stay in either a 1 or 2 BR.

Again, thanks in advance for your thoughts/advice.

You won't have a problem booking a room during those weeks.
Just take a look online at August 2016 right now for that same time period (weeks 33/34). There is plenty of Orlando availability.

Wonderful news...and thank you very much. Unfortunately (though understandably), I see no availability for 2016 dates because my HGVC weeks are EOY Even and I have no points that I can use in 2016.

I thought you could search for availability even without points....

In any event the new HGVC Las Palmeras should be available by then, so there should be even more rooms available..

Classic didn't/doesn't show availability. However, inspired by your post I gave Revolution a try and it does show me what is available even though I have no 2016 points. Thank you.
