I'm looking at buying a week at Wyndham Kona Hawaiian Resort via Ebay. 231K pts (the amount I would need) have higher MF (~$300 higher) than a fixed or float week but pts. allow you more flexibility.

We vacation here quite often thru RCI or TPI exchanges but that is a crap shoot. Ideas?

I think you pretty much nailed it. Slightly lower expense and better chance at availability vs more flexibility. If I were planning to go to a particular resort most of the time, and found a contract whose fixed or float weeks covered my needs, I'd probably take that over points.

I have an EOY float week at Dolphin's Cove. My experience has been that there is MUCH more availability to me much closer to check-in than I see if I were using points in Club Wyndham. While the Club intervals are usually sold out some time prior to check-in, I've found that even bonus time is readily available to me as a Weeks owner, even a couple weeks before Christmas to New Year.

Mahalo for your feedback. I'm leaning towards the "weeks" purchase. Wife says I have to sell/giveaway one of our existing weeks first. :)
