In this case it would take fewer points converted Wyndham Rewards to stay there.

You could stay there for a week by converting 262,500 Wyndham point into Wyndham rewards points. Almost half the number of points then using your Wyndham points directly. That is actually cheaper than paying cash for a weeks stay.

Thanks for posting this info

Thanks all for posting here, I'm thrilled to see The Mills House offered (my daughter lives in Charleston just a few blocks away thus it's my favorite city to visit). But yikes, it sure is pricey.

Thanks for the tip on using Wyndham Rewards. I checked on that and points need to be transferred before the beginning of your use year. Too late for me, this time, but good to know for future planning.

They sure have limited availability, looks like they make 1 room available? I tried to get some details from a VC, but they couldn't tell me anything. All she could tell me was what was available on the owner site.

With the VIP Platinum discount, booking with Wyndham Rewards is about a wash (depending on whether it's a weekday or weekend), however, there may be rooms available with Wyndham Rewards but not on the Wyndham owner site.

For those not familiar with Wyndham Rewards, here's the rules:
* Must transfer your points before the beginning of your use year (that takes some planning)
* Points transfer at 40% -- To book a room with Wyndham Rewards it's typically 15,000 points per night. Thus you need to transfer 37,500 Wyndham points to get 15,000 Wyndham Rewards points (and round that up to 38,000 Wyndham points (have to transfer in increments of 1,000)).

Thanks for the information, always something new (for me) to learn!!!
