So I got invited to a focus group for MVCI later this week regarding upcoming changes (improvements?) to the program. Finally a presentation with no pressure to buy anything. Thought I would see if anyone has any suggestions on things I might ask about and if I am allowed I will share any relevant information after.

"a presentation with no pressure to buy anything"- really?!?
A focus group sounds as though it should be less like a sales pitch.
Most of the presentations now seem to be described as "program updates" though, but normally there is still only one objective.

I was invited to one of these about a year ago. Got paid for our time, and actually pretty interesting. It was a table discussion with other owners, and for me most unique aspect was hearing how other owners used their timeshares. You get so used to people on TUG being very familiar with their options, and I was surprised to see many of these other owners had little to no clue about exchanging, etc.

The questions from the interviewers (a survey company hired by MVC) were very basic but focused on what we wanted out of a vacation, and hinted at the changes we are seeing now--"Would you enjoy shorter stays in urban areas?" etc. They do give you a chance to say what is on your mind, so if there is something you want to see or change, be sure to share with them.

This seems like something i would welcome in Europe and Asia, if it were ever to be offered here.

Where will the focus group be held? Most focus groups are done purely for marketing research purposes, but a few unethical companies use them as selling opportunities. Since I work in Marketing research I am usually excluded from participating, but I would welcome an opportunity to do one for MVC. Please let us know what key topics are discussed.

This one is in Irvine. The presentation line was supposed to be a joke since Marriott usually only offers money for your time if they want some of yours in return. I'll have to work on my forum wisecrack skills.
