I am in the process of renting a Marriott week in Maui this summer from Redweek from a Marriott owner. My question is if I need to cancel for any reason what are my options. I am also an owner of other Marriott Properties in Florida.

Thank you

Barry

That is something you need to ask the owner. I know my cancellation policy for my renters is unless I re-rent it I keep any deposit payments made to date. I also make sureto request final payment due by 90 days before check-in so someone can't say to me 30 days before that they are cancelling. At 90 days I can still rent all my weeks.

I also recommend travel insurance so if they need to cancel for medical reasons they can recoup some of their money.

The cancellation terms should all be spelled out in the rental contract that you sign. I would imagine that each owner sets their own cancellation terms. THe fact that you own other properties has no effect whatsoever when you are renting from a private owner and there is no "one size fits all" answer to your question as this is a private arrangement.

You will NOT be able to sub-rent the rental without the owner's full cooperation.

The rental terms are completely up to the owner - you should ask them for the rental terms before you complete the transaction.
