Anyone know of a good reseller, who is reputable, does not charge upfront fees, and specializes in reselling DRI points.

Thanks.

I dont know of any reputable resellers but I have seen many DRI Hawaii Collection (Other Collections as well) that have not been able to be given away even with a financial incentive to the buyer. Hopefully you have better luck.

Unfortunately I don't think your points would be worth the minimum of $1500-$2000 a reputable reseller would take as a minimum commission after the sale. I haven't heard of anyone who specializes in DRI points.

Your best bet would be to read up on how to sell or give away your points yourself by advertising on free and low cost sites.

Diamond resales..

Diamond points have little to no resale value expectation on the secondary market at this point. As the other poster mentioned, your best option would be to focus on trying to give them away (if you are not encumbered by a mortgage or past due fees).

Rentals are still active, but because of the flooded suppy it's likely you'll have difficulty covering all of your annual fees. If you are renting, focus on securing high demand event and holiday weeks- and market those aggressively.

Good luck.. This won't be easy- but take your time and learn as much as possible about the secondary market and you should be able to liquidate successfully.

Please consider giving your timeshare away to a private individual who would like to own it.

Why?
-You can give it away yourself for nearly no cost.
-You can control the transfer process to make sure it is truly transferred out of your name.
-You won't have to deal with companies that may or may not be Legit.
-You can transfer it to a private individual who will be happy to have it for their own use.
-You will have the satisfaction of knowing that you ended your ownership legally and ethically.

There are two places on TUG where you can give away your TS's for free (no charge for the Ads.) There are other cheap and free sites on the internet, as well.

TUG Marketplace - the only cost is your TUG membership - $15 (List it for $1 and it will automatically go in the Bargain Basement Ads.)

Bargain Deals - Totally FREE! - just write a simple post with all the pertinent info. In your post, include the following info.:
-resort name
-unit size
-season owned
-maintenance fee
-current reservations

To make it more attractive I would:

1) Pay the 2012/13 maintenance fees and don't ask for reimbursement.

2) Pay for the title transfer (you can get a simple title transfer with no escrow or title search for about $100.) Many people have used Tugger TTT (Alan) at Time Travel Traders for this service in the past, but he is retired and is referring most business to Lisa Short for this service - 1.706.969.8906 readylegal@gmail.com Lisa has been receiving good reviews on TUG.

3) Reserve a popular holiday week in 2012/13 for the new owner

4) Instead of paying a fee to a rescue company - consider offering a cash incentive to the new owner.

Good luck!

You should also consider yourself fortunate not to be in the DRI European Collection, as they have only recently somewhat relaxed their rules that restricted resales to people who already owned DRI points.

Let us say that I do not care if I can get rid of my points - and get no money for it - as long as I do not have to pay any upfront or other administrative charges - that I wonder if there is a reseller out there who specializes in DRI points.

Yes, I can go the way that DeniseM is suggesting - but if I want someone else to look after the sale of my points (ie a reseller) rather than myself, that would be my preference.

So the question comes back - are there resellers who have dealt with DRI points, and who do not charge upfront fees.

Still doubtful. It is unlikely that they will do this without an upfront payment. In general they get a commission off of the sales price with a minimum amount. If they are going to give it away for you they will likely want their minimum up front. To be quite honest, the method that Denise is suggesting in not very difficult or time consuming. You pretty much post your ad and wait for someone serious to respond. Once you have a buyer the transfer company will take care of the rest.

Yes there are - see the TS related business ratings. However, Reputable brokers have a minimum commission of $1,000. Are you willing to pay someone $1,000 to sell this for you? If you list it on the Bargain Deals forum and offer the buyer $1,000 to take if off your hands, I bet it would go quickly. Much faster than a broker can give it way for you.

I couldn't even give away my dri points and deeded them back to dri, paying $80 because it was the cheapest option. Best decision I ever made too!
