Ok, I'm stupid on timeshares, so bear with me. Do you pay the MF every year, even though you only use it every other year? You have points available now,and points available in April 2013. Can you borrow those points now, or do you have to wait. Say I am planning a trip in January of 2013 (which I am), and I need 80,000 points. Can I borrow 30,000 now?

You're not stupid on timeshares, but you need to do more research

Typically, you only pay a MF for the year of use. Yes, you can borrow points and you can save points from a previous year. If you're short on points you can also rent additional points from RCI at $.02 per point. There are also Points owners that will sell you points (usually $.01 per point) and transfer them to your RCI Points account.

Knowledge is power.

No, payments every other year are not necessarily typical. I have an EOY and pay half the mf each year. So he asked a good question.
