Considering St. Thomas, St. Kitts or Harborside-Atlantis for a late Dec honeymoon. Anyone been to the Marriotts or Harborside to help compare?

Considering St. Thomas, St. Kitts or Harborside-Atlantis for a late Dec honeymoon. Anyone been to the Marriotts or Harborside to help compare?

St. Thomas is the only one I've been too, and we loved it. Late December is going to be prime season for any of the timeshares you're pursuing either in Hawaii or the Caribbean, so I would manage your expectations on how easily you'll be able to trade in (renting will be easier).

St. Thomas has beautiful beaches, great shopping and is very close to the British Virgin Islands, which make for great day excursions. Frenchman's Cove is a beautiful property, but only has 2BR units.

A property to consider for St. Thomas is the Elysian Beach Resort -- it is a favorite of mine, but is a step down from the quality of the Marriott properties, and they only have Studio units.

Good luck with your search!

Best,

Greg

Never been to St. Kitts, but from everything i've heard it would be a wonderful honeymoon destination. Harborside is a lot of fun, but personally I'm not so sure that the water would be warm enough for me that time of year. It depends upon ones tolerance for getting splashed with perhaps cooler water. It's kinda like Florida weather, and can be sunny and hot or not quite so warm in December.

If you are referring to weeks 51 and 52, they will all be very hard exchanges, just fyi. believe St. Kitts has lock-offs (not sure) which would make the trade easier than looking for a 2BR in St. Thomas.

I think the choice depends on what interests you most for a honeymoon destination. St. Kitts is a lovely island and not so heavily developed as St. Thomas or Harborside. I would rate it higher for daytime outdoor activities -- beach lounging, hiking, snorkel trips, etc. than for night life. The St. Kitts Marriott is a great resort. St. Thomas may be the best all-round choice for natural beauty and activities, but I've not stayed at FC.

No lock offs at St. KItts. 2 or 3 BR only

Thanks- sorry for the misinformation. It's funny, because I had always thought that there were no lock-offs there, but a friend of mine who also owns Marriotts recently told me there were, so I figured I was mistaken. I thought the only Caribbean resorts with lock-offs were in Aruba.

Hello.

We've stayed at all 3 resorts you asked about. If plans are to travel off resort, I would say that St. Thomas has a bit more activity to choose from, as well as a larger selection of restaurants. If plans would be to have mostly quiet R&R with minimal off property activity, I would say St. Kitts over MFC. We were just at Harborside the first week in January 2012. Great place and lots of activity... however, the ocean was way too cold to go in - even children weren't venturing into the water ! So, it really depends on what a person is looking for in way of a honeymoon.

Hey it's your honeymoon! Does it really matter where you go as long as there is a beach, sunshine and each other???? I love St. Kitts. Very quiet and beautifully laid out. Nice beach. I have not been to FR but from everything I have read and the photos I have seen it is not nearly as large a footprint as St. Kitts and thus you probably will have more people around you than in St. Kitts. If you would like more of a feeling of privacy then St. Kitts might be your best location.
