To all you experts:

I often see units on resale for as many as 8400 or 9600 points per unit (i.e., Platinum/2 or 3 BDR unit, depending on location.) In the HGVC inventory, what is the most number of points you can get for the purchase of a single unit week? Let's say, for example, purchasing a 3-BDR (Plus or Premier) Platinum Season at HHV or Kings' Land on BI. Wouldn't that be as many as 12,500 to 17,250 points for a single unit week?

The following may sound like newbie questions, but is an HGVC "week" 6 or 7 nights? If you purchased a 2 BDR Platinum in Orlando (Tuscany for example,) and wanted to book 12 months out, must you book a 2 BDR Platinum unit, or could you book a 1 BDR unit instead?...again 12 months out. Thanks!

A week is 7 nights.

At 12 months you can book only the same size/type unit you own and at your home resort. To book a one-bedroom unit, you have to wait until 9 months out.

Thanks for answering the second part of my question. Does anyone know about the first part, units and maximum points?

Take a look at point values in your Club Member Guide for the new higher point resorts
- HGVC at W57th (NYC)
- Grand Waikikian (Oahu)
- Kingsland (Big Island)

The Grand Waikiikian three bedroom penthouse during platinum season for 28,750 points seems to be the highest point unit.

Thank you. I think I get it now. So, the Grand Waikiikian three bedroom penthouse unit that you would need 28,750 points during platinum season to stay at for one week, is also sold by HGVC sales reps (3 BDR penthouse, Platinum) for the same number of points. If that's the case, it must cost a fortune to buy that particular TS from the developer!

Its all a matter of scale.
What's a small fortune to most of us, is peanuts to some. Ces la vie.

I believe it is 28,800 points. The most reasonable large point packages on resale are the 7,000 and 8,400 point packages. The larger packages sell for a much greater premium and unless you want to own at that property, they are price inhibitive.
