I do not like people buying me things like clothing, art or tools. I do like ammo and whiskey as I know we will use it.

This year I recieved good whiskey, better than I would usually buy for myself and a case of .233 for my AR 15.

I guess I can use the art as a target.:D

I hope you don't use both at the same time.

I like music, DVDs, puzzles, and pajamas, and got exactly what I wanted. I also tried to get everyone else exactly what they'd want, and believe I succeeded.

DH and I almost bought each other the same thing.....I got his last week, and then on the 24th (he always waits till the last minute) we were on the phone and he said he was in a particular department at a certain store getting something for me....it was the same department and store where I had gotten his, so I asked a few questions about the mysterious present's size and so forth, and realized it was the same thing :D I 'fessed up that I had already gotten it; I guess we know each other well!

DH is building me a kitchen island. Since we worked on the design together, I know it's going to be just what I want. Looking forward to using it.

Our kids got us tickets to see Brad Paisley w/the Band Perry and Scotty McCreery at Mandalay Bay in January. They gave us a gift certificate for dinner at Memphis Championship Barbecue to go with it. Looking forward to a fun time.

Our granddaughter painted us a picture of an owl sitting on a tree branch - very abstract type painting. She did this in her art class at school and when she took the painting home, my daughter got real excited and told Katy she couldn't wait to hang it up. Katy advised my daughter that she made it for her "Grandma and Grandpa" and that it was to be sent to us for our Christmas gift!! We LOVE the picture and can't wait to get all the Christmas decorations down and the painting hung up.

Our granddaughter is 12 years old and to have her think of us while she was painting this is wonderful. It's very difficult being so far away from them, especially during the holidays.

I guess my age is really showing this year. We got good health, good friends, a wonderful place to live and all 3 of our grown children are working this year. What a wonderful Christmas

My wife got me a couple casual Eddie Bauer shirts, a Bobby Flay cookbook and a french fry cutter. I got my wife a Kindle Touch, a portable speaker dock for her iPod Touch and a wireless mouse for the laptop I bought her 6 weeks ago.

On a side note, my in-laws, whose gifts I always dread opening because it's hard to feign enthusiasm for useless fluff, got me a nice gift this year. A cordless Craftsman drill. I would really appreciate this gift if I didn't already have 2 cordless (and 1 corded) drill.

The best gift we received this year was watching our two (2) grandkids (ages 13 & 17) play basketball in a holiday tournament and winning both games. Also, they give us restaurant gift certificates to our favor local restaurant (Broken Eggs).

I am taking the 11 yo nephew for DVC at AKV for 7 nights in January 2012. His parents have offered to pay for the DISNEY park tickets :)whoopie: ). Grandparents are going to BC for a night or two (other side of family) and to go to a park and dinner with us.

Best part was: Nephew realizing he was getting more than another tee shirt when he found his name on the Transportation Voucher from Magic Express in the Disney Day backpack 2012 and I was shouting YOU are going to Walt Disney World with me as YOUR FLORIDA trip in 21 days.

He was STUNNED. Then he said in shock: "This is the best present ever" overheard by his father, grandfather, and another aunt who were near enough to him. He is a very shy boy - but at midnight searching the house and looking for his Disney 2012 daypack --- so he could sleep with it.
