I am going to my Allen House in May and had need of two more bedrooms for friends who want to go with us , so I answered an ad here:
www.VacationTimeshareRentals.com # Vacation Timeshare Inquiry - ID#99973
and have been corresponding to a Paul Martin.

Anyone heard of him ?

His emails have been maybe a tad evasive and I am not sending any money, but has anyone had dealings with Vacation Timeshare Rentals and/or this person ?

I emailed the Allen House and they said he is not an owner, but that he may be representing one, but they would need the owner's name.

Not getting a warm fuzzy here and don't plan on sending any money, but was hoping that maybe he was just dense and not dishonest.

I've owned, rented (from & to) timeshares for years and am leery this time.

Thanks in advance.

My $0.02 worth...

....have been corresponding to a Paul Martin.

A fair and appropriate reply from the resort. It's now clearly time for "Paul Martin" to step up and precisely identify to you the exact nature of his relationship to the advertised week. If the resort doesn't recognize him as an owner, then it's only reasonable and appropriate for Mr. Martin to now prove to your complete satisfaction that he legitimately represents a (clearly identified, confirmed) owner with the full knowledhge and authorization of said owner.

If he can't / won't execute this fundamental courtesy, bid him a polite but prompt adieu...

Theo, great advice and thank you for confirming my misgivings.

Great deal, but like the saying goes............... "if it's too good to be true, it probably is".

Another possibility...

It could also just be someone trying to rent out a week which they have obtained as an "exchange".
It is clearly prohibited by both II and RCI to do so, of course, but that might not stop someone who maybe thinks they can get away with it and make a profit...
