We are going to Palm Beach Resort & Beach club for 2 weeks in April and was wondering if we really need a rental car. Seems like they are so expensive right now!! Any thoughts? TIA

IMHO, you need a car -- that is, if you'd like to go anyplace outside the resort. Palm Beach has a lot to offer and many interesting places, but having a car is the only way to do it, as the resort itself is not close to anything.

One thing you should not miss in Palm Beach is lunch at "The Breakers," a historic, luxury ocean-front hotel, built by one of the pioneers of Florida, Henry Flagler. See: http://www.thebreakers.com/

You could rent a car for just a portion of your stay...
Enterprise advertises that they'll pick you up and return you.

You definately need a car. Just fare to and from airport will pay most of a weekly rental fee. Plus you will want to go off property to see and do things. Florida is one of those states that is not public transportation friendly.

And don't worry too much about the price. It will come down a bunch between now and April. Just keep checking and when you see something decent, book it. Then keep checking and checking and re-book as many times as the rates drop.
