Going for the first time. Have a 1 bedroom ocean view. What building(s) are recommended? Any that have been recently refurbished?

All the buildings have been refurbished.
A high floor in building 5 has a great view of the main pool and ocean.
We like building 9. You can likely find a resort map online.
Nearly all the rooms have ocean views

We’re here right now for the first time staying in a 1-bedroom we purchased and love it! We requested a high level floor first and then secondary was building 1, 9 or 14. We were put in building 9 on the 4th floor and the view is wonderful. I’ve included a couple of photos And the building across from us in one of the pics is 14.

I personally prefer building 3 or 4. I find 5 gets the early morning sun straight on which makes it a little to warm for coffee and breakfast on the balcony!! Mind you a first world problem!!!

We recently returned from a week’s stay at the Lagunamar - Building 12, 4th floor. Each evening we enjoyed eating at a different restaurant in Cancun, returning to the resort between 8:30 - 9:00 pm. This particular building had its own lobby - no staff/ no lighting/no keyed entry at this time of night. Our room was next to the elevator. Having vacationed all over Mexico too many times to count, we have never encountered such a situation. Safety is always a major concern when traveling anywhere. We found the lack of security to be disconcerting.

1 - 9 - and 14 are the best views- love those buildings we have been in most of the buildings ( have been there approx 10-12 times). But honestly even the others all have great views (especially on the higher floors). Enjoy your trip- the staff is most accommodating as well. We have not been in the past 2-3 years, but do have a trip planned for upcoming year-can't wait!

The security team monitors access points, such as the main gate and beach entrances, to prevent unauthorized individuals from entering the resort premises. They do not specifically guard individual buildings, but I have observed them patrolling regularly.
IMO the corridors are well-lit and if I remember correctly there are security cameras on each floor of every building. In case you noticed any issues, such as a malfunctioning light near your unit you could have reported it.
I have never felt unsafe in any building within the resort, regardless of the time of day or night.

It is also important to note that the location is one of the safest in Mexico.

We are in a studio now. Building 14 - 4th floor. Great ocean front unit. Thought we scored quite well for a II exchange.
