There is a Lahaina realtor who has been posting periodic updates via drone footage of the progress being made in Lahaina. The fellow has an expensive drone that takes amazing high res videos:

What really surprised me was that before the fire it took 300 days to get approval to build. Now with upwards of 1000 plans being submitted it will take a staggering amount of time to get approved.

I would think that if the county came up with 6, 8 or 10 different pre-approved house plans from either professional architects or from previously approved home and apartment plans and offer them to home builders as pre-approved plans that it would greatly speed things up. Yes, they would still need to do some other engineering but allowing builders or owner/builders to get pre-approved plans would be a great idea. Just my opinion.....
