Hello Starwood TUGers,

I usually spend all my time in the Marriott and Wyndham forums, but good fortune will find me at WKORV-N in two weeks. I am very much looking forward to it!!

Two questions if the could: I was curious on how far a walk it was to Whalers Village (and how easy a walk -- my search said I had to walk thru a golf course?) Any advice?

My second question: our friends are staying at WKORV, and we both have young children. Is there a particular building I should request to try and keep us as close together (and close to the kiddie pools) as possible?

Thanks very much!

All the best,

Greg

You would have to walk along the beach, and they cut through the Sheraton Hotel to get over Blackrock. It's probably over a mile - no path until you get past the Sheraton.

BUT - no need to walk. The resort has a shuttle that runs continuously from the TS to the Westin Hotel - which is next to Whaler's Village.

As an exchanger, you will not have any priority to request a certain location, so it doesn't hurt to ask, but you may not get it.

Here is the WKORV-N map - Bldg. 5 is next to the kid's pool and next to WKORV.

Building 2 at WKORV is close to building 5 and 6 of WKORV-N. Some rooms in building 5 also look at the WKORV-N kiddie pool. Look at the owner resources for building maps.

The walk to Whaler's Village is easy walk but takes some time. It is all on solid ground, perhaps a mile or a little more. You do walk a stretch along the edge of a golf course to get there. There's also a free shuttle that takes you from WKORV to Whaler's Village. It runs every 20 minutes or so.

I guess I was typing when Denise answered.

You used to have to walk a section of the beach but that is no longer necessary. They opened up a path after the private homes next to Kahekili park and there are signs that guide you through the resort next door. You then walk behind the resort and can cut to a path that borders the golf course and takes you either to the Sheraton or you can continue on the sidewalk along the road all the way to Whaler's Village. It is solid paved ground all the way.

Sorry - I didn't know about the path!

Thank you both for the information! I'll look forward to both the shuttle and the walkway!

Denise, I'm renting versus exchanging, so maybe that will help my chances ?? Wishful thinking!!

All the best,

Greg

The walking path is quite nice until you hit the Sheraton. Where the path markings/signs suddenly stop and you are left to find your way around the Hotel which goes around Black Rock... Regardless, you are able to walk it and it's quite nice (most of the way)...

Greg - in that case the owner needs to call and put the request in for you, ASAP.
