Yet another promo just received from SVN.

Use StarOptions and cash to enjoy a warm-weather getaway

For a limited time, when you spend three nights at Sheraton Vistana Villages or Sheraton Vistana Resort, you can purchase additional nights for as little as $89*.

Use your StarOptions® to stay three nights in a one-bedroom villa at Sheraton Vistana Villages or Sheraton Vistana Resort between April 21 and June 15, 2008, and add additional nights for just $89. Or, use your StarOptions to book three nights in a two-bedroom villa at one of these welcoming resorts and add additional nights for just $129.

Reservations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, so act now to take advantage of this limited-time offer today. For assistance, please call Owner Services at 888 882 8365 and mention rate code OWNPR.

*Offer valid at Sheraton Vistana Villages or Sheraton Vistana Resort for select reservations dates through June 15, 2008 and must be booked by June 10, 2008. Each stay includes a midweek tidy. Cost of a one-bedroom rental is $89 per night; two-bedroom is just $129 per night. All reservations are subject to availability at the time of reservation. Offer valid for new reservations only. All incidentals are the responsibility of the guest.

Take that you travel agent secretaries. Us owners can book excess inventory at Vistana Villages for $10 per night less than you can (nevermind that whole burning 3 nights of StarOptions requirement SVN imposes on us.) SVO loves us! It really loves us!

In light of SVO's grand gesture of good will, I think it's safe to say that we owners and SVO can now be bestest friends. Let's all have a sleep-over and do each others' hair! I'll make english muffin pizzas in our combo convection oven/microwave just as soon as I figure out what a "compendium" is. Apparently, the instructions to operate the combo oven are in there. (Inside joke for you WKV folks).

(Wait a minute. The AAA rate for a two bedroom at VR during that time is only $21/day more than this owner "deal," and it includes daily maid service and no requirement that we burn 3 days of StarOptions. So SVO . . . . are you ready for your Toni home perm? I'll be gentle, I promise.)

You absolutely crack me up...:hysterical:

What concerns me most is that because Starwood is renting these villas out for a song and a dance during off season, owners who want to rent out their unit will have to book a high season week in order to recoup their MFs. And that's bad news for people who want to trade into the resort during high season via SVN.

I'm sorry, but in my opinion renting an Orlando week (I don't care which resort) has got to be the silliest thing I've heard in a long time on this board. There are so many resorts there that there's almost always availability, except perhaps in the highest demand weeks. I doubt owners would get close to their MFs back by renting there.

On the other hand, your unit in Hawaii is a completely different story. :)

Nodge, you are in rare form today!
ROFLMAO :hysterical:

I’ve been thinking of some party games we could play with SVO during the sleep-over. Do you think it would like to play a red hot game of “Pin the Tail on the Latest Elite Program Benefit to Remove?”

Maybe we could just play “telephone,” you know, where someone from SVO decides something and only tells a few people, and then those few people tell other people, etc. until by the time it finally gets down to us owners it makes no sense. Oh who am I kidding, the folks at SVO would never go out of their way to tell us anything.

No matter how much fun we’re having with SVO though, we should still try to go to bed pretty early. Some of us have to get up at 6 AM to try to book our villas . . ..

No SVO, I’m reading the box right here and the solution for your “Toni Home Perm” is supposed to stay on for 15-30 HOURS, not minutes. Trust me.

Oh yeah, I'm making progress on the pizzas too. I googled "compendium" and learned that it is "a concise, yet comprehensive compilation of a body of knowledge. A compendium may summarize a larger work. In most cases the body of knowledge will concern some delimited field of human interest or endeavor (for example, hydrogeology, logology, ichthyology, phytosociology, or myrmecology), while a "universal" encyclopedia can be referred to as a compendium of all human knowledge." There you go, and I thought it was a piece of furniture. Well I'm off to the library to find the compendium containing the oven instructions. Mmmm. I can taste those English muffin pizzas now. -n
