What can you tell me about the Divi Southwinds in Barbados?

Yesterday we got a trade to a 2 bedroom at the Divi Southwinds (Barbados) in March. The reviews on Tug are 2 years old and it sounds like they have been doing some renovating. Reviews on Trip Advisor are mixed. We're not terribly picky people but will we be disappointed? I have until tonight to cancel with no penalty but also think I might keep it and let my ongoing search for other resorts keep going. What do you all think? It sounds like the 2 bedrooms are across the road?

Southwinds Divi

We were there in March of '06. The property is being renovated. Some are completed & others not. The location of the Divi Southwind is excellent. When they say the beach is across the street it means a small roadway. The beach itself is nice. The pools & restaurant (beachside) are very nice. When you leave the resort grounds you can make a turn on that small roadway & walk to many restaurants. This area is referred to as the St. Lawrence Gap. We were there in high season & it was not a busy road at all. There is a guard at the entrance to the Divi property from this road. I would not hesitate to take a trade here as it is difficult to get a 2 bedroom unit anywhere in the Caribbean & Barbados is beautiful. Laura
