Will be in Williamsburg Oct 15-22 and am looking for any recommended restaurants. We aren't really interested in the restaurants where you have to get all dressed up as we will not be bringing those kind of clothes. We have an entertainment card so any suggestions for restaurants where we could use the card? We will also be looking on restaurant.com (60 % off using code 65639 until 9/30) so if anyone has any info on any of those places, please advise. Thanks for any help you can give. Linda
 
Hmmm, my husband has our Entertainment book at work, so I'm not sure which Williamsburg restaurants are listed...here are the restaurants we frequent:

Shacklefords II at Monticello Marketplace

Sal's by Victor at the Williamsburg Shopping Center (food is great, service can be so-so)

The Fat Canary at Merchant's Square (can get pricey)

The Trellis at Merchant's Square (dinner is great, but $$$ and plan to dress up, lunch is less expensive and more casual)

Berrett's at Merchant's Square

Aroma's on Prince George Street in Colonial Williamsburg

Kyoto on Route 60

The Aberdeen Barn on Route 60

Eagle's at Kingsmill

Nick's Riverwalk Restaurant in Yorktown

Doraldo's at the Kingsmill Shops

Ukrop's Grill and take out at Monticello Marketplace

The Melting Pot in Newport News ($$$, but AWESOME food)

The County Grill (awesome BBQ) in southern York County

Pierce's Pitt BBQ off Rochamnbeau

One thing about the restaurants in Williamsburg that surprised us...

They serve either breakfast and lunch OR dinner. Or they serve lunch and dinner, but they're not open between about 2:00, when lunch ends, and 5:00, when dinner begins.

We're from the NYC/NJ area, land of the all-night diners, and we're used to eating lunch late, around two or three in the afternoon. We were astonished to discover that food is not an all-day event in Williamsburg. If you want lunch, you'd better be in a restaurant by one and pretty much finished by two or you will be eating at Friendly's with the rest of the layabouts (like us!). There are places to get sandwiches and take-out, but for sit-down meals, you're on a schedule.
 
Thats good information to know. Are all the restraunts like that? Here in California we do have some cafe's that are breakfast and lunch only and a few restraunts that are lunch and dinner only. But once they open their doors they are serving until they close for the day.
 
I agree, the Cheese Shop has wonderful sandwiches and take-out food. Also there's a farmers' market in the square in the summer--not sure which days--with lots of great homemade food, including some pretty spectacular pies!

James River Pie Company (pizza) on Jamestown Road

Carrot Tree Kitchens (sweets, quiche, etc.) Jamestown Road

Victoria's (formerly the Courtyard Cafe) at Rt. 5 and John Tyler
 
I tried Season's mainly because of some tug recommendations and because we purchased the coupon at 60% off at restaurant.com. Everyone in my family really loved it. this was just this past July.

We also enjoyed Seasons and had the Restaurant.com coupon which paid for my lovely rack of lamb.
