Captured Marriott Links/Documents [Ongoing]

It would be a good idea to save snapshots from the MVCI website before they remove them. Sticky location?

This is a good idea.

I was in the MOC sales gallery on June 19, 2010 and the whiteboard above the sales reps desk had a list of advantages of Marriott timeshare ownership.

#1 on the list was Deeded Ownership.

I wish I'd snapped a picture of that white board....went poof on June 20 when DClub arrived.

Best,

Greg

I try to preserve as much of this as I can on my PC. I save all old points charts and Exchange Procedures in PDF form. Never bothered with these charts though. Perhaps it is time to start.

I was in the MOC sales gallery on June 19, 2010 ...

I was there during the week of May 19th, when visions of poof were dancing in their heads.

The web by it's own nature is rather mercurial, so I think I'll go on the MVC site map and capture anything that may be of interest later.

Gary, thanks for the PM! As you can see I agree that it's a great idea to try to capture these things. The only hesitation I have is in making this a sticky thread (don't want to load up on them) so we'll try it in an "ongoing ..." form and see where this leads?

My suggestion would be that each post containing an attachment should include the title of the document/page exactly as Marriott titled it, to aid in the search function.

What's odd with the "Benefits At A Glance" document that started this whole ball rolling is, usually Marriott replaces docs as they're revised so that the same link will take you to the latest version of a document as of the effective date of any changes. With this doc, though, most links to the current edition seem to have been disabled by Marriott despite the fact that the new/revised version isn't effective until 4/30/15. That's a bit different from other situations where captured docs will come in handy to contrast new/currently-in-effect info with previous versions, but both are good reasons for this thread. :)

If you want I'd be glad to host the documents in an online folder as well or on VPE.

This may be a good idea as people have the ability to delete their attachments on vBulletin. Someone could accidentally delete something not thinking about this thread. There is also a limit on the total size of all attachments you can have.

Steven,

Is there a way to set it up on VPE that we can upload the documents directly, or would we have to send them to you?

Thx, I think that is a really good idea because of the limited attachments on TUG.

Best,

Greg

Just like Tug, VPE can also have files attached to a post. I can increase the file size limits to whatever we need it to be. We can setup a Section just for Documents and have each thread for a specific document.

And as far as the documents themselves go, we can have them added directly to the threads. Generally on VPE, I don't allow people to delete/edit after a certain period of time. It preserves the integrity of the board.

I can also download the files directyy from the thread and place them directly on the server.

should be no limits (other than size, which I believe is 2mb) to what you can attach to any post here on TUG.

attach away =)

Brian, you're really tempting fate with that post :D

Okay, here are a few files from older days.

1) Original points chart (released June 20, 2010)
2) MOC budget (2011)
3) Ritz points chart (these are original Ritz points, not DClub points)
