When should Reward nights be credited into my account?
  • When the credit card bill is issued?
  • When the credit card payment is made?

I put over $9000 on my card last month, but have yet to see the three nights credited to my account.

I don't think the payment has anything to do with it. It is based on the spend and not the paid. Did you get your spend points yet? There is a very short lag. I received mine recently 3 days after my statement date but I'm not sure about nights since I do not spend much on the Marriott card.

The nights usually post the nights a week or two after the start of the month following the closing date of the bill. In the case of a December bill, they post the nights in January and they count as nights for the year in which they are posted. The points post more quickly than the nights.

In my account Elite Nights are updated once a month usually around the 11th. But based on flyertalk.com reports there have been issues for a few months now with the updates, dating back to when they added the Lifetime Nights count. I didn't have problems that some reported with MRP's but the Elite Nights haven't changed since the September update (have called once but am waiting on this month's update to see if it corrects.)

It took an email to prod them, but they added 4 reward night for the money that I put on the card over the last two months.

I wonder how often they "forget" to give those nights out?

I am also noticing that my Elite nights based on spending/statement have not been updated for 2 months already. I am just doing a wait and see.

There is a long thread at Flyertalk about this. Many people have been reporting their nights are crediting now. I haven't seen any post to my account in a couple months and I exceed $3k every month.

There are also a couple related threads on the Insiders forum at marriott.com. It seems to be a widespread problem that has resolved for some but not all. I suggest you contact "community manager" - an official, participating Marriott rep on the Insiders forum - if you want to make sure that your account is included among those that need correcting. Click here for her profile and then click on "Send direct message" in the list on the right. (You may need to be registered on Insiders, not sure about that.)

For me neither calling the Plat Customer Service line nor contacting Chase through a Secure Message on that website worked, but "communitymanager" is aware of the problem and has the direct connection to whichever reps are tasked with fixing things. Good luck!

In my experience they've never missed updating the Elite Nights count within a few days of the monthly Chase account update or within a few days of any stays. This latest system glitch is the first time we've had problems (although I know there have been other glitches over the years which we were lucky enough to escape.)

Does anyone have an example of the spreadsheet they used to keep track of points, nights, etc? At least the headings.

I am missing so many nights/points right now my head is spinning - I have to keep track of this stuff on my own so I don't go crazy - no longer can trust that everything is being done correctly.
