You should know most weeks at Avenue Plaza are floating weeks that float over the entire year except the week of Mardi Gras, and the week prior to Mardi Gras, The two weeks of Jazz fest (17,18) and the Sugar Bowl (52)
These weeks can be split into a 3 night and a 4 night stay and both splits can be taken on weekends, even the same weekend
Also for every week you own here you can have a "bonus" week. Just pay another mf. If you own a studio your "bonus" week can be in a studio or a 1 bedroom. The "bonus" week can be split, just like the regular week
What all this means is that one ownership can give you 4 weekend reservations. Do them all at the same time and you can host a party weekend for friends and family. or spread them out over the year. some folks use one week themselves and rent the bonus week for enough to offset most , if not all of their maintenance fees. There is always something going on in New Orleans; French Quarter Fest, Essence Fest, Voodoo Fest Saints Football, etc, etc. not to mention the music and food all the time. Own a week here and you can be here 4 weekends a year
Avenue Plaza completed a "back to the walls" renovation last year, new kitchens, new baths and all new furnishings. The pool and courtyard was redone as well. All without a special assessment. After Katrina the boilers and the other "guts" of the building were relocated from the lower level to the second floor, so next time damage should be minimal.
Avenue Plaza is located in New Orleans' Garden District, within 2 miles of the French Quarter, and 1.5 miles from the Superdome. Its right on the historic St Charles Ave streetcar line (a streetcar named desire) putting everything in town within reach without a car (Valet Parking is available and the best bargain in town at $12 a day)
Id take this in a heartbeat except that I already own 10 weeks here
