For those looking to book RCI summer dates using your HGVC points, this is the time to start looking online for availability via RCI Points.

We have access to both RCI Weeks and RCI Points.
RCI Points availability begins 10 months before check-in. July dates are now appearing online. There's good availability out there. I've been posting RCI sightings at various locations for the past two weeks. Take a look at the sightings postings as far back as August 26. There's some good stuff. I just can't post details here.

NOTE: It's my understanding that ongoing search requests only seaches through RCI Weeks inventory (not RCI Points inventory). So you have to search online.

I recently booked a summer week at the Hilton Club NY.

Good Luck and Happy Hunting ;)

Thanks for the reminder, I booked a 5 day stay at Hilton Club NYC also. I opted to use my Wyndham portal instead of my HGVC portal, as I had points already on deposit in RCI via wyndham from last year.

It works out that my cost for a 5 day stay in NYC is $460. That includes the reservation fee. That is less than cost for a night in this room type, if I booked it right now via hilton. The are currently pricing this room type $782 night with taxes included. Wow.

With the Hilton portal do you have to deposit points or weeks before searching pecan you just search? What about for ongoing searches?

You can deposit and use points later, a way to stretch the use dates, or search and use points if something pops up. You can also call in and they can set up an ongoing waitlist search.

When you set up an ongoing search do your points need to be in your account or can you have an existing reservation and cancel it to pull points if your ongoing search pops up?

Reason I ask is that I'm looking to buy to stay at HHV, but when and if aulani starts depositing into RCI, if I could get an aulani week old rather stay there.haven't been yet but I hear its fun for little ones. Does my question make sense?

With HGVC, you do not deposit anything before confirming a booking. But if you want an ongoing search, you must call HGVC's RCI desk. They'll restrict the requisite number of points until you confirm or release a booking.

When you confirm a booking (either for the current year or following year), the system simply deducts points as needed from your account in the following order:
-- points banked from a prior year (either "deposited" or "rescued");
-- current year points;
-- points borrowed from the following year (as needed).

There are situations in which you may deposit points to HGVC's "RCI Program" if you want, but that gets into convoluted point-banking options.
