Scam- North American Management LLC
All lies by this company. Website created just two weeks ago. While there is an LLC listed with Texas, it is not in good standing.
Just another scammer with a new name.
I also was called by this company (North American Management LLC) in 4/12 and am very confident it is a scam for the following reasons:
1)When I asked, they told me they found out about my listing from ARDA (and they placed the ARDA logo on their website). I got them to "confirm" that they got my info from ARDA a second time. However, I contacted ARDA who told me that they don't provide listings to anyone and that this company also is not a member of ARDA (they said it was very clear that they did not get the info from ARDA).
2)When I asked if they had a real estate license- they told me they had a brokerage license instead---under their parent company---Texas Insurance Brokerage. I got the license # from them. However, when I contacted Insurance Brokerage Info in Texas---they confirmed that no one had that license # (it was not a valid license #) and no one was listed under that name. By the way, I checked "Texas Insurance Brokerage" with ARDA as well---this company is not a member of ARDA either.
3)When I asked the company for references---they would not give me any and said it was a privacy problem. VERY concerning... You can always get references for real estate transactions. The first guy I spoke with transferred me to "Legal" to further discuss. Interestingly, he transferred me to someone I spoke to the day before- "Jacob" (who had mentioned the day before that when I get to the contract stage that I would end up working with "legal"). He did not recall this because when I confirmed "you are with legal?"---he said "yes."
4) One person from the company claimed they have been in business for 3 years. However, another person claimed they have been in business for >20 years. Very contradictory info... Their website says it is copyrighted in 2012 and Wikipedia says the company started in fall 2011 (can't recall which month off the top of my head- maybe Nov?).
5) I realized that the proposal for resale "guarantees" the sale price but doesn't list a time limit or expiration for the resale proposal. Legally-this doesn't make any sense. They can't guarantee a sale price i.e. 10 years later...
6) I had sent the company an email asking for references and if they had a real estate license #. When I called the company after that---I asked the gentleman "So this is Andrew Gomez?" He obviously didn't hear me correctly and answered "no I didn't get your email---let me check with our secretary." I never mentioned that I sent an email... Thus, he obviously had received it and was pretending he had not. He was trying to be evasive about it...
Lastly I want everyone to know that I was disappointed to learn the above info because I was excited about the prospect. I also did not feel like registering on this website just to post this single blog reply, but thought I should to prevent an innocent person from getting scammed. I'm not totally sure at what point the scam takes effect because, recognizing that the company is not legitimate, I have not proceeded to deal with them. However, I would not be surprised if they asked for some amount of money when working on the contract for some reason that sounds legitimate but isn't---i.e. for title paperwork or something else (based on what I've read about these scams online).
I hope this helps...
