Timeshare Presentation in Cancun

We are a family of 4 with kids 5 years and 10 months old.

Please provide tips on how to get invited to the most lucrative Timeshare Presentations in Cancun.

Any information will be greatly appreciated.

My advice is:

Do not go to a timeshare presentation in Mexico.

By "most lucrative Timeshare Presentations", what is your motivation? Are you interested in investing in a timeshare, or simply looking for "lucrative" incentives?

If it's the latter, I would suggest you refrain, as this amounts to common theft.

People post these messages from time to time, and it all boils down to this - if anyone seeks a presentation with the expressed intent of doing so only to capture the freebies offered, they've lowered themselves to a status below that of the timeshare sharks. I have more respect for timeshare sharks than these individuals.

Have a great vacation, and enjoy every minute of it. But please don’t steal anyone’s time or opportunities. If I’ve misunderstood your motivation, please dismiss these comments, as they were not then intended for you.

Nope. Far from it. Just a simple man in the medical profession. Right is right, and wrong is wrong. Pretty simple.
 
Since the TS weasels BEG you to come to a presentation and accept their free gifts WITH NO OBLIGATION, I don't think you are going to find much support for your argument. Especially in Mexico where you pay dearly for those gifts with your time, patience, and sanity.

Not that I would waste a single minute of my precious vacation on such nonsense, but if some people want to take advantage of what's freely offered, that's their business.
 
Sure, and some folks hang out in the back of grocery stores at lunch time filling up on the freebie food samples. :rolleyes:

If the timeshare sales people were selling their product rather than their incentives, I would agree with you. If you were 'recruited' with "would you like to hear about a vacation you can have have every year..." then accepting it with the CERTAINTY that you are not interested may be disingenuous - but not common theft.

However, when the sales gimmick is totally focused on the 'freebees' then no one should feel they are cheating the timeshare sales people by accepting. To me it's like a contract - you are giving them 90 minutes of your time and they are giving you something in return. That simple! And the OP was just asking for the BEST DEALS available in Cancun.

PS: I tend to like going to these presentations, but my wife hates them. Therefore we go to very few. This probably works out best in the long run.
 
If you're looking for a high dollar incentive, don't go to the Royal Resorts. At most, they will give you breakfast or lunch and maybe a T-shirt, so you would be wasting your time and theirs.
 
As you depart the Airport you will be given ample opportunity to sign up for a presentation. Both sides of the hallway have timeshare signup booths. Just slow your pace a little and I'm sure you'll have at least 3 or 4 approach you.

Mod, I'm an optimist, and I believe there are plenty more people that would agree with me.Perhaps a silent majority, and certainly not in need of further support, as you suggested. Further, if you felt my reply was breaking forum rules any more than your own, please by all means delete it.

There is a very clear distinction of an individual uninterested but yet drawn into a TS presentation, and one that expresses their intent to seek out a presentation for freebies.Enough said.

i see his point of view; however, I personally don't agree with it but respect his opinion nonetheless. The way I look at it is that they (TS sales team) take every opportunity to dupe people as it helps them to get any edge towards a sale, so why shouldn't other people dupe them back. What goes around comes around, bleed em dry for all I care.
 
To clarify, yes, I am interested in the "lucrative" incentives...

How does that amount to theft? I'm investing my time and in return looking for the best possible returns...as simple as that...and like someone above said, it's a contract...it's not that I'm telling them that I have an intention to buy...they very well know that there would be many who are there for the gifts...they are offering gifts and hoping to brainwash and sell regardless...

This is exactly how I feel about attending presentations. We just returned from PV. There are few tourists there and the TS salesmen are hungry. We were offered $$, meals, extra nights, artwork, tours and I don't remember what-all to attend them. (Guaranteed 1.5 hours- but how do you leave if they are providing transport) Not ONE salesman approached us stressing the value of a TS vacation, just the goodies.

Had I felt I wanted/needed any of the goodies offered more than the vacation time spent, I wouldn't consider it thievery. Just taking them up on their offer of providing more information and being justly compensated.

I had all the info I needed to walk on by.

Here’s a suggestion to maximize your pay out. No matter what the body snatchers offer you, ask for more. :D The body snatcher is getting at least $100+ per body (couple) that he gets to attend the sales pitch. Remind him that, “Something is better than nothing!” They understand that saying real well and will offer you part of their take. :p

By the way when I checked last year, the top dollar being offered for attending a sales pitch in Cancun was about $100.

For the people that go for the freebies and end up buying, I have no sympathy for them, the salesman turned their greed against them. :hysterical:

I agree with you 100% and don't see anything offensive in any of your posts.
 
My life is too hectic, and my vacation time too precious to waste it for $100, or a free swim with dolphins, or a breakfast sitting with a time share salesman indoors:( in beautiful Cancun, when I could be at the beach, or at the swim-up bar:whoopie: .
All these are things that if I REALLY wanted, I would purchase for myself, and not subject myself to the "sharks".

I'll be there for 10 days...people have reported getting tickets for 4-5 tours by attending 1 presentation...if the payout is good I wouldn't mind having fun with the sharks for a couple of hours...if all I can get is around $100 I'll skip...
 
Be aware that this will be the most misleading, high-pressure, and miserable half day of your life. It won't be short and it won't be sweet.

This is your opinion only, and frankly, in some cases quite inaccurate. You've painted again with a very broad brush, Denise. Not all timeshares, nor their respective sales presentations, are the same. Not all are "timeshare weasels"

This is not to suggest that I've altered my opinion that anyone that seeks out a TS presentation with the expressed intent of collecting monetary or other rewards, is misguided. This boils down to a case of ethics - undoubtedly beyond the scope of this forum, thus it will not be resolved here. I have no intention of altering my opinion, and am confident that those that do not mind scamming people will alter theirs.

You seem to neglect the fact that the whole system of marketing & selling timeshares by promising gifts to people willing to sit through a presentation was devised by the developer/sales team. Criticizing the people who are invited/lured into the sales presentation, often with misrepresentations and outright lies, does not seem to make a lot of sense. Apparently the system works enough times that the timeshare sellers keep doing it. It's probably the only way they can get some prospects to hear their sales pitch, and enough people actually buy what they are selling that they don't seem too interested in doing it differently.
