Anyone got points for a tour at Playa Andaluza?

We are at Playa Andaluza, our home resort, and wondering about taking the tour, partly for the points and partly to hear what the sales reps here have to say about the new system and the European resorts.

Have any Playa owners done the tour here recently and if so how many points did you receive? I asked the sales office yesterday and was told that owners here receive only 5000 points and get an hour long "update." This has not been my experience in the past but we haven't been to Playa for a couple of years so things may have changed.

You should expect and get 10,000 MR points.

Thanks - that is what I would expect - but i haven't been hassled to book a tour, and that seems unusual to me, and the sales receptionist seemed clear that owners get 5000 not 10,000. Are you an owner here and have you received the usual 10,000?

You may like to try a tour of Marbella Beach resort - if you don't own there, they may be more generous.
My guess is they have little to update Eurpoe owners on - the sales guys we have spoken too in the US are embarassed as our properties are not included in the new programe and their training has not really equiped them to come up with any good reasons to buy right now - unless you count spending even more of your life savings on a scheme no one really knows how it will work out! So I guess very little is moving for the sales people in Spain.

As a Europe and Asia owner which are the destinations they sell as the "dream trips" to Americans - its a MESS!

I bought into the Marriott Brand because it was worlwide now for the most part they seem to be making it America wide!!!!

I was there the week before the points roll-out(second week of June). I was interested in seeing Marbella so I asked if I could take the tour there. I ended up getting 10K points from Andaluza and 10k from Marbella(for the one tour of Marbella). The gal at Marbella claimed to know nothing about the points system--she said Europe wouldn't be included which, as it turns out, is correct.

I do not own at either resort.

Yes I own a Silver 3 bed lock off week at Playa Andaluz but we don't use it much as I usually lock it off and deposit the two weeks with II for exchanges. Got two weeks in Queensland in March this year for last year's two units deposited.

I was at Marbella Beach Club in a 3 bed unit on an II exchange in January with an A/C and did a short 1 hour update with an associate and got 10,000 points. As soon as they look at my account and ownership data they soon realise I am not a sales prospect. For the last few years I only bought resales.

My guests at Marbella Beach bought a 3 bed GOLD lock off week in Paris so we also got a 50000 intro bonus as well. Now they are established owners - they are looking at resale weeks only also.

Whilst at Playa I would suggest a trip to the Marbella Beach resort also - I prefer it to Playa in fact as it is more established and has a much better beach not that any beach on the Costa Del Sol is really very good.

When we took an update tour last year we were given only 5,000 points. I was really surprised!
