I am looking into Myrtle Beach for next year using my Wyndham points and the top two properties I am targeting are Seawatch and Ocean Blvd (OB). This year when I was in the area my wife and I walked around both properties and were overwhelmed with the size of OB and did not get a favorable impression of the main parking garage situation for the two lots between Towers 1-3 & Tower 4. What I did not notice while there is that there appears to be another parking lot behind Tower 4 which I am hoping is a little more open and easier to get in and out of. We also liked the layout of the pool area at Tower 4 given that we have 2 young kids (2 & 4 yrs old) and they spend most of their time at the pool.

For those who have stayed at OB previously could you respond with your impressions of Tower 4 overall and specifically the ease of use of the back parking garage? Also, do you feel that OB is good for younger kids given the size of the property and the crowds during the summer? Do they have regular activities for younger kids? Also, any advice on activities/restaurants that are walkable from OB? Lastly, Tower 3 appears to also have some availability as well, any impressions from those that have stayed in Tower 3 would be helpful.

Thanks for your responses and opinions. I am a new points owner within the Wyndham system (Williamsburg Kingsgate) and have searched the forums at length and did not find specific answers to the above but did find a wealth of other information that has been helpful.

I've never stayed at either property, but I too am interested in hearing what people have to say about Ocean Blvd. Tower 4.

I recently booked a week for the end of April through RCI and was able to get a 3 bedroom unit with a 28K deposit!! :) I was so excited... until they told me my unit would not be in the beachfront towers. :(

After reading some positive reviews on TripAdvisor about Tower 4, specifically that the parking situation was much better, I went forward with the reservation. The main negative review that I read was from people traveling with small children - they didn't like having to cross a busy street to access the beach.

Some answers.....

We own at OB and go there at least once a year.
We have stayed at both OB and Seawatch.
OB is a much larger resort then Seawatch, The thing we find is that Seawatch is a younger group of people, Seawatch is NOT a Wynmdham only resort. Lot more rentals. Seawatch is also out of the way and you have to drive to get to eveything..OB is located closer to downtown NMB. which has few small places to eat, ice cream shop and a couple bars all with in walking distance.
Parking at OB can be a hassle, The lot under the towers 1-2-3 is small and fills up fast, Tower 4 has a little more parking. The back parking lot has plenty of space and is well lite at night, It also has a phone you can call the main desk and they will send over a oversize golf cart and drive you back to the towers 1-2-3. I have never seen it full.
There is alot of things to do at OB for the kids, ours 10-12 have never been bored. Most things are done at tower 4. The pool at tower 4 is more kid fiendly with a small kids only pool. The other thing tower 4 has is longer sun hours on the pool, since the pools at tower 1-2-3 are in between the towers the sun lite goes away by mid afternoon. Where tower 4 does not have this problem. It is also not as windy at Tower 4. The wind coming off the water gets funneled between the 3 towers and it gets very windy if you are in the pool or on a pool chair. Tower 4 has the same rooms you just are not on the beach, there is a cross walk from tower 4 to the beach but no stop signs you still have to be carefull of traffic.
Hope that helps you all out any more questions let me know I will see if I can answer.
Have fun and enjoy.

We were at OB the last part of July and stayed in Tower 2. We had no problem parking below Tower 4. In fact the day before we left, I was able to park in the garage below tower 2 near the elevators a little after 10 A.M. (checkout time). Don't let the parking situation there bother you. There's ample space.
