We can only afford to do one dinner show this year. We have a 14yr old DD.

Which one would you recommend?

And Why?

thx- MaryK

Are you in the mood for a corny (but funny) country hoe-down with good food, or a reasonably authentic luau with mediocre food?

It really boils down to that.

Do you NEED a dinner show?

I vote for the Luau. The show is FANTASTIC!

If your daughter is like most 14 year olds, she would just roll her eyes at the Fort Wilderness Hoe Down.

Do you need a dinner show? Many times, most times in fact, we skip them now that the kids are older. They seem overpriced. I can't visit with the kids because the entertainment is going on. There is so much else to do that is already included in the tickets, I have gotten to the point where I would prefer to not do them. And the kids have never asked why we don't do them anymore.

We just got back and DS 14 liked the Hoop Dee Doo show. It was fun.:whoopie:

We went to both about two weeks ago and the Hoop Di Do wins hands down even with your 14 year old. A lot of fun and not too long.

The Luau show was way too long and story line was kind of dumb. Since we went in July it was very hot even though we were in the later show. The food was ok but we would not pay the money to go there again. We were on the DD when we went last time. If you do decide to go don't get there early. All seats are asigned so no need to stand around for an hour doing nothing.

The Hoop Di Do was by far the best show / character dining we have been to and we've been to most. The only problem was that the building had a really strong AC unit and it was kind of cold for the kids so wear long pants and maybe bring a light jacket...

If you don't like old style western songs and dance then you probably won't like the Hoop Di Do although it's more stage preformance and comical than it is musical...

if you go offsite there are several more.

if she like horses -then the arbian horse show - the show isn't that great - I liked it - but the horses were beautifully.

Hoo De Doo, hands down. I do not like country music or corny jokes and I love all things polynesian. But had a totally great time at the Hoop De Doo and found the Luau boring.
