We attended a "class" about II at Shadow Ridge last week, and were told the II exchange fees are going up by $10 in July. Both the online and call-in fees are affected. So, if you're thinking of an exchange, doing it before July will save you a few dollars! BTW, the Marriott-to-Marriott fee will NOT be affected.

It seems to me that the exchange fee has been $139 for several years. Going up $10 doesn't surprise me. Especially when RCI is getting $169.

I'm glad the Marriott to Marriott fee is staying the same. It seems to me that fee has escalated $10 at a time for the last few years. I know time fly's but it doesn't seem that long ago when the Marriott to Marriott fee was only $89.

RCI is staying ahead of II

Unfortunately for those folks affiliated with RCI the figure quoted above is not currently correct. RCI Members have been paying a $179 exchange rate since roughly Septermber, 2009 for Internet Exchanges and $194 if they use a VC.

Current rates at RCI are provided here:

Other exchange companies---NOT RCI or II---charge about $149, OR LESS, for GOOD exchanges. WHY use the "big two" ???

Tony

I am not giving RCI anymore of my deposits because of their ridiculous fees that keep going up. I have 2 weeks on deposit right now and after I use them I will be through with RCI even though I still have several years of membership left.

RCI can refund your unused membership fee. I did it before.

With Interval the prices are still reasonable and we've always managed to get the exchanges we've wanted. Why go with a smaller independent company that has fewer resorts to exchange into?

:( Yep, I spoke with an II agent and he confirmed it's true. II agents learned about the July $10 increase on Monday. This increase includes guest certificates, as well. :(

I totally agree. I'm still very happy with II, which I use exclusively to exchange.
