Happy 2010 everyone.

It seems that there are many here that have never joined Tug for one reason or another.

I am offering 3 memberships to 3 random people. I know it is only $15 to join but that does not mean everyone has an extra $15 sitting around.

If you have never been a member here,
would like to join,
and are not an employee or representative of any TS related company

That's very thoughtful of you! I agree that TUG is a valuable resource and worth every penny for membership. I've learned so much about the timeshare industry and have enjoyed many great vacations in the past 7 years.
 
Just started lurking on this site as a guest a couple of months ago. Never been a member so I'll throw my name in the hat. Thanks for running the raffle!

At first I thought you were a moderator offering 3 free memberships courtesy of TUG, but I see you are a member offering to pay out of your own pocket (am I reading this right?). Now you've got me wondering what the membership has to offer that I don't get as a guest. I've been here quite a while and never knew. Also, I see you are from near Phila - I lived in Allentown, Jim Thorpe, Willow Grove, Lansdale, and Glenside. What a nice offer, and congrats in advance to the lucky 3.
 
Even though I have been a guest here for a little while, I must admit I haven't really looked into the benefits of becoming a member. I'll throw my hat in as well. Thanks for the raffle.
 
Members can read the resort reviews, which are often quite detailed and informative. Members can also post ads. There are other benefits as well, but for me, those are the biggies.

Membership dues and the ads also pay for the computer costs, domain names, work by non-volunteers (Brian?) and so forth. Much of the internet is free to use, but it isn't free to run.

I don't know what all I have been missing, not being a member.

I've been here a long long time... learning, contributing and enjoying.

Getting acquainted and meeting timeshare folk has been a big plus in our lives. TUGgers are so informative and friendly.

We have received and also have given free and/or very economical timeshare nights because of associations here.

If I become one of the chosen, I will in turn pay for another. You never know, this could become catching.

My favorite member features are:

The Resort Reviews and Ratings - extensive reviews written by owners for owners.

Sightings and Distress Board - Daily reports of the best exchanges that are available online, and last minute rentals that don't appear anywhere else.
 
The Reviews alone are a great thing! The reviews have many uses for me.

The Sightings forum also is a very nice feature. The cost to be a Member is minimal and there are easy ways to extend your membership for free. :clap:
 
The most important benefit of joining TUG is learning the secret handshake and the recipe for boiled pizza! :D ;) :p
 
If someone is a member and asks for advice, other members are more likely to take the time to respond, even if they are very busy.

If I place a rental ad on the Last Minute Board and more than one person wants it, I will give it to a member over a non-member. I worry that someone who is too "cheap" to pay a $15. membership fee to support the TUG community, may try to nickle and dime me over a rental transaction.

There's just more of a bond and trust when you see that someone is a member.
