SoCal TUG Get-together Sunday 1/17/2010 @ Noon

Some of us here in Southern California have been kicking around holding an informal get-together after the holidays as a fun way to put faces to names.

We have picked SUNDAY, JANUARY 17, 2010, NOON for a luncheon at Buca di Beppo (BdB), 11757 Harbor Blvd., Garden Grove, CA. For those not familiar with this location, it's approximtely one mile south of Disneyland. We picked the location as its roughly central to many tuggers in the region, or at least equally inconvient for most. :ignore: The area also offers many attractions should anyone want to spend a weekend there.

I'm attempting to put together a rough count so I can arrange with BdB whether we have enough people to use their banquet room & menu.

Please reply here if you belive you will attend, with approximately how many people will come with you so we can work on a rough count. While we won't hold you to this, the sooner I have this information the better.

I can only be tentative as it is a 3 day weekend and I won't rule out going away at this point. If we come, my sister, who lives in Garden Grove, might like to join us. She was with us at a tug get together in Carlsbad and really enjoyed it.

I'm definately a maybe. My stepson and his wife might still be visiting then. If the leave on Sunday morning I might be able to make it. I'll know if a week or so what their travel plans are.

I won't know until that morning.
Sunday is the last day of our convention and it should be slow. The restuarant is only a mile away, so if we are slow I will swing by. It'll be just me.

Just thought I would give this a bump since we are getting a little closer to the date of our get-together. We sure have a lot of So Cal TUGgers so I hope a few more folks RSVP yes!

This is a good question! Not that I'm aware so far, probably just have fun putting faces to screen names and swapping t/s stories. I'm sure we'll do a introduction after we all arrive (Name, screen name, resorts owned, city where you live, etc....). That alone will be fun!

Any suggestions though are more than welcomed!

Any thoughts in placing this thread in Western United States? I am always amazed at the number of people who do not visit the Lounge.

This thread started in the Lounge, got moved to the Western section, then got moved back to the Lounge. There have been more responses since it got moved back to the Lounge. :)

I followed the thread trail in hopes of the date changing to the 24th or 31st, which is when we'll be at Shadow Ridge. :)

I might be able to be there. I'm out of town right now, but I'll look at my calendar and the Disneyland blackout days when I get back. :)
 
I agree with Steve, I think we will get more exposure in the "lounge" section of TUG rather than the Western board. I just think more people visit the lounge, thus we are likely to get more respondants to our get-together.

If any of you SoCal TUGgers know of other TUGgers who live in the area, feel free to PM them to see if they can come! The more the merrier in my book.
I haven't been to a TUG get-together before so this should be a hoot!

Are we still on?

The Socal Tuggers get together is suppose to be a week from today. I am just checking to make sure it is still happening. Do we have any kind of agenda? Are we going to just play it by ear?

How will we identify ourselves? Do we ask for the TUGGERs Group? Just asking. I just like the comfort of knowing my purpose and who I will be with. How many are no scheduled?

We are going to a wedding on Saturday night and then I think meeting with some friends from Oklahoma on Sunday, so we can't make it.
