[2009] NCV - Room recommendations

Going to NVC later this month and I am wondering what unit number or building I should request. I would like an ocean view unit, close to the pool and, if possible, a newer unit. Yes, I know I want it all, but can't hurt to ask.

Any recommendations?

We are going next week and requesting the 3800- 4200 buildings any room in the building. Every room has a full ocean view and are all pretty close to the main pool. (even though I like the pool down by the 1000 bldgs)

Do you want to be close to the main pool by the clubhouse/check-in building? Or would you prefer to go to the new pool which has no services, but is quiet and really beautiful.

The buildings closest to the new pool are not yet open but there is ample parking up there.

We just returned from there friday and loved our stay!!

I always ask for best ocean view available. I do not care about the location just want that view.

I'm just like you. I want to be by the clubhouse/main pool with an ocean view. I always ask for building 2400 or 3600. Building 3600 is actually the main clubhouse but there are rooms on top. Building 2400 is right next door by the spa with no stairs to the main pool.
 
Are the pools heated and/or inside? We are going there the first week of February, 2010. Trying to decide to request a building closer to the pool, etc. or a view.
 
No inside pools -- I don't think any Southern California resorts have inside pools. :) Assume they are heated in the winter -- you might call the resort to be sure.
 
Just to be clear, if view is the only consideration, are buildings 3800, 3900, 4000, 4001 and 4002 the best? Do you need to specify upper floors or are any fllors good in these buildings?

Every room in those buildings have a great ocean view. The ground floor units may have some small concerns about the planting near the patios. (42xx bldg may be slightly turned toward the hill but not enough to matter.)

Also, 4300, 4400 & 4500 are almost as good. (4600 & 4700 are turned into the hill)
 
In addition to what Latravel recommended, I would also add the 3700 building which is the sales office but has villas above it. There are no stairs to go to the pool and it's next to the clubhouse building.
