With my SVN II Acct. (developer week) I can only see the 2009 week, as well.

I can see 2009, 2010, and 2011, with my non-SVN II Acct. (voluntary weeks.)

Can you still see 2010 and 2011 as available for deposit in your non-SVN account? I can no longer see those years, only my deposited 2009 weeks, so I assume they are stopping us from entering our own deposits. How can we do it, if there are no places to enter the dates? :bawl:

I didn't deposit this years week with II, but it was showing up(ski season includes 48-50). When I logged on this morning the 2009 wasn't showing up.

Sneaky Starwood, going to try to give me a week 15 when I deposit my ski week next time. :crash:

Cindy --

Mine are gone too, but I'm not going to panic for a few days. They were there this morning.

Too many of us have responses from Starwood management regarding our right to deposit our booked weeks .... even they wouldn't try to change the CCRs without a board meeting.

My 2009 disappeared today too - but I only own EOY even, so I thought it was just a correction!

I can still see 2010 and 2011 as well.

yeah my II deposit list looks different too. This change must have just happened. We should probably start a new thread about this so people can report what the heck is going on.

Jerseygirl, I hope you are right. I am pretty worried about now. I just think a person could probably use a little sweet talk through their internal mail system and ask for a better deposit than what they give.

How many people are truly going to demand a better deposit? Obviously, many people are unhappy with their product, because there have been hundreds of SBP and SDO selling on eBay this past few years. That means most people don't know how to use their weeks, and how many people think they have the right to deposit any week they want?

A small percentage of people are knowledgeable enough to require a good trader for deposit.

Oh, no! You too! This is pretty good evidence of Starwood's intention for our deposits from here on out. Better just request a good week via email and give a range of weeks we would like to get for our deposits.

That's like five people, and I assume Starwood doesn't want us to deposit any weeks ourselves, and so if they take away our ability to access those weeks, they will keep us from controlling our own deposits of reserved weeks.

Drat!

Cindy - what do you mean?

I am not sure which part you are asking about, but I did request a deposit from Starwood for 2009 last year, and I asked for a summer week, and they deposited a week 10 at SBP. I sent an email through my account and was able to talk them into a summer deposit instead. I think this might be a way to get around it.

Great News

I called up II as I was greatly dismayed by this apparent change and a seemingly strong arm tactic to control non-SVN weeks. Here's the good news that II rep Sheila reported to me: The reason for the chnage is that as of today, non-SVN weeks will be able to deposit entirely through II. We will not have to go through Starwood. She said the change was effective today and probably would be communicated by Starwood to us soon. I was very relieved. This seemed like genuine information as the rep. was able to speak intelligently about the diference between SVN (which she described as corporate) and non-SVN weeks.

Hooray:cheer: Let's see if she speaks the truth.

Let me clarify: What do you think today's changes mean? I don't see the connection?

Thanks for making the call. I was almost afraid to call myself; afraid of what I would find out. That is GREAT NEWS. I am celebrating over here. :D

Well, if they were arbitrarily going to deposit whatever week, which is what I assumed they were going to start doing, perhaps we can still get something within a date range through their email system. It worked for me before.

Denise, see my post above.

Sorry - I was addressing Cindy and we were posting at the same time. Thanks for finding out for us!

I have been checking MSC for an announcement, but I don't see anything so far...

I do not expect Starwood to publicly communicate that non-SVN deposits can be based upon available and at the discretion of the owner (imagine that?).

At that same time, I hope this doesn't have a huge impact on other owner's ability to get to their home resort for their personal use. Not likely to see a huge impact when travel is down. Lets see what happens when families are travelling more often.

I hate to call this a win when it should have never been a challenge in the first place.

All owners are equal. All have the same ability to call and make reservations at the 12-month mark, then do what they wish with the week.

Don't drink the koolaid regarding giving owners who choose to use their week preferential treatment. That in itself is discrimination.

My II account

Hello all,

I've been away for a while on a road-trip vacation, and haven't logged into II for ages. I just checked today after reading this thread. I am confused as to why one of my non-SVN weeks is missing from the list of weeks that I own. Does II only show the weeks on deposit now? Or is this part of the new "change" that others are referring to? It used to show things like:

Resort 1
2009
2010

Resort 2
2009
2010

Resort 3
2009
2010

Now it just shows the ones I have deposited, but not the ones that I have the potential to deposit.

Change makes me so uncomfortable  .

Hi Denise - I don't think anyone knows all the details yet, but this is a very good change for voluntary resale owners.

Hopefully, we will know more details, soon. :hi:
