We recently stayed at the grand Solmar in Cabo. One thing that we really liked was that they keep the same waiters in one area for the entire week. They do rotate, but on a weekly basis, not daily. I think this is a fabulous idea! Please if you can, bring this up to management when you are at the resorts, and write it in your comments. I believe this will not only make the waiters happier (better tips as they will get to know their customers better), but it will also make the guests a lot happier!

Thanks in advance!

Perhaps they do this due to the new shared tips policy because of AI.

You should post your request on the royals site so management can see it, or bring it to the attention of Christy(?) the sales manager.

I agree it would make for better member/renter/staff relations.

I'm not sure how you got the impression that this is new. The policy at rr's is that staff have shared their tips since the rr's were built. Staff have always shared their tips, that's why rr members that wish to tip their server directly , do so by handing them pesos independent of the tip that they include on the bill, because they know those pesos are not all going to their server, but shared among numerous staff members.

So, in that case, do you double tip? One on the bill and one in the servers hand? :ponder:

If you wish to tip your particular server, yes. If you leave no tip on the bill, that's your prerogative, but we never did that.
