Just had a call from a Jeff at a Paramount Communications asking if I still had my timeshares. I was curious about where it would lead so when I responded that I did still have them, he said that he was talking to owners because there were increasing complaints about the timeshare industry and he wanted to ask about my complaints.

It's a rather dull Friday evening so I answered in a very cheery voice that I had no complaints. He asked in a rather uncertain voice if I was sure I didn't have complaints about maintenance fees - "No!" - complaints about availability - "No" - complaints about sales tactics - "No".
His final question asked again if I was satisfied with my timeshare and I told him that I sure was. He sounded kind of disappointed, thanked me and hung up.

I wonder it was leading to a supposed class action suit with upfront legal fees, or an offer to help me out of my timeshare.

Anyone had calls from this bunch?

When I get those calls, I always ask "which one". They almost never know how to respond.

I did a google search for "Paramount Communications." An exact match came up for a VOIP hosting service, a similar match came up for a company that offers "Email Provider and Social Media Marketing solutions." In either case be wary that you're not talking to an entity called Paramount Communications but rather an entity trying to cover up its identity by using a hosting service.

Like the calls from tradesmen (tree trimmers, driveway pavers, windows and gutters, etc.) that say they are in "my area." Really? What area is that? Click.

The point of a confidence game is to gain the trust of potential victims with well versed and reasonable sounding descriptions of the services they offer.

Sounds similiar to the "owner update" that we are invited to attend when we check in for vacations. All they want to update is their financial bottom line.

That is the only true purpose of an "owner update" and that is sell you something brand new to their system. Money! Money! Money for them and out of your pocket.

I got contacted by this guys

I get a lot of panthom calls, i answer this one as it showed as a local call. it was this company to sign me up for their free seminar as they are not there to sell anything just provide owners with information about legal rights and options to exit when the time comes(they said). Yes, we already know what this may be. But even they said if you are a happy owner i will "bendit for the information".
Has anyone have gone to one of this "seminars"?

just another pitch from the same sorts of players....you will generally be presented with how much your timeshare sucks, and how hard it is to get rid of...and then offered an amazing deal to either transfer, cancel, or otherwise dispose of your timeshare with their special secret program that guarantees success!

all for a nice fee paid upfront.
