We're visiting Washington, DC, again for a week next June, followed by a second week staying with friends in Virginia Beach. During that VA Beach week we'll be spending at least two days on the Outer Banks, exploring Kitty Hawk and such.

Rather than driving back up to VA Beach at the end of the day, I'm thinking it makes more sense to stay over on the Outer Banks. So I'm looking for recommendations on overnight stays on the Outer Banks, most likely in a motel. It'll be one or two nights, mid-week. I don't need anything overly fancy, but it needs to be reasonable, at least. We're two adults, no kids, and fairly flexible in what we will accept.

Anyone have a recommendation?

Dave

I second that recommendation. There are some nice Bed and Breakfasts on Manteo.

There is also a fairly new Holiday Inn right off the beach in Southern Shores, NC.
