What happened to RCI last calls for Cabo this year?

Has anyone else had any difficulty finding last calls on RCI for April and May this year?
This year there is very little inventory yet there is plenty of inventory at PBS and PBRose on Sky auction for about $70 more than a typical last call.
I booked one week on Sky auction and the confirming paperwork came from RCI and included the RCI logo on it.
Is RCI selling inventory inventory to 3rd parties? They do show availability at the same resorts as extra weeks but at a price that is double the price Sky auction is offering the same week for. Anyone know what going on as last call availability was wide open last year and Cabo is slower this year than last year and I'm searching way after spring break/Easter.

A few in S and VA, a single resort in NC, MD, PA, and UT, plus Jamaica and the Bahamas
Some resorts were shut down for 2-3 months. I think that shuffled a lot of people around.

Skyauction absolutely gets a subset of Last Calls and Extra Vacations and has since its inception. Sometimes they are at a better price than RCI member pricing. Sometimes they are less restrictive when it comes to cancelling.

You may (or possibly don't) remember that there was a very large damaging hurricane last October that took out many resorts, the airport, Costco, Walmart, significant sections of residences etc. etc. Cabo and vicinity is just now getting back on it's feet after several months of hectic rebuilding and refurbishment.

That there is less availability of Last Calls which are traditionally 2nd tier and leftovers and rooms made available from excess so the sales force has bodies upon which to prey should come as no surprise.

Jim, I'm certainly aware of hurricane Odile but this might be different. We were there for the month of January and all of CSL had recovered by then but activity in restaurants and business was down about 25% in CSL and Playa Grande, Cabo Villas and PBS had vacancies in late January which is very unusual. San Jose was more impacted and there the damage is still being repaired at several resorts. Late April early May is typically as slow as hurricane season in Cabo and resorts are typically at 60-70% occupancy.
I've also checked the airline "loads" on several Saturday and Sunday arrivals for April/May and plenty of seats- even frequent flier seats.
Perhaps RCI has just using another channel to move off the inventory and to double dip profits as it appears sales (and certainly bid activity and prices) at Sky auction are also slow. I doubt I'll renew my RCI account as I never trade and only go to Cabo or Oaxaca.

no more RCI membership for me!

After twenty plus years of timesharing and exchanging I did not renew my RCI membership. I am also going to get rid of my timeshare. It is easier and cheaper to travel without the restrictions! I will add Skyauction to some of the places I use to get easy, cheap rentals at the last minute. Thanks for the tip!:wave:

I was down last month and some resorts and some buildings at others were still not open after the hurricane. Maybe this shortage is lessening the availability of Last Call units.

The airport was open and there were way more people and planes than I've ever seen. At my resort they said the number of visitors to Cabo had increased dramatically after the hurricane - it seems like that ultimately was good publicity of Cabo. :shrug:

For some reason I get an error when accessing last call on RCI. RCI does show PB Sunset Beach as having many 1 bed and studio available as extra vacations.
