Margaritaville Biloxi just closed down. Last day was Sept. 15th. They could not get the hotel approved, after numerous tries. The signs are down and the gaming commision went in and destroyed all chips and such. Millions of dollars down the tubes. Now it is just a big empty white building. I would think if they planned to build a timeshare somewhere nearby to sustain it as a "resort" destination as planned, they would not have closed it all the way down like that.

I wonder how well Wyndham's Margaritaville Resort Club is selling now........

I would guess it is selling quite well if the salesmen are pushing it.

Are the Margaritaville Casino and the Club-Wyndham-Margaritaville resorts even related?

I think they have totally separate management and ownership. My guess is there is no relationship between the two.

IMO they are just two separate companies that licensed the "Margaritaville" name from Jimmy Buffet.

That's exactly it. They just license the name from JB.

I would think whoever the "International Partner" was that was made reference to in the 1st link will not be selling many timeshares there for awhile.

I assume that Wyndham was the International partner mentioned in this article

(In December 2013, Doug Shipley, President & CEO, announced Margaritaville Biloxi will break ground on a new hotel facility in the spring with anticipated completion a year later. The new hotel would feature 250 rooms, including 170 deluxe guest rooms and 80 two- and three-bedroom suites. In addition, they would become one of the first resort properties to offer time-share units through a major international partner.

In July 2014, the casino announced that it would likely close by September, because of an unresolved dispute with the landlord that was blocking the financing needed to build the hotel.[12] On September 15, 2014, Margaritaville Biloxi officially closed. )

Thanks ICM for the wiki link.
